Corporate Records Service Scam

Many business owners in Florida are probably getting this green envelope that says:  Important, Annual Minutes Requirement Statement with a return address to Corporate Records Service  Please just throw it away.  The form enclosed is the same information one has to report to the state as an annual report and the $ 125.00 they want for this supposed service is for absolutely nothing. It states that you still have file the annual report yourself even if you pay them their fee.  They will do nothing but collect the information and sell it to someone.

They do state on the outside of the envelope that it is not a government document, even though they sure try to make you be live it is associated with the government. This, in my opinion,  is a form of fraud. Unfortunately it may be done in a quasi legal manor and so not illegal. There is also information on the official state website about not having to do this.

QuoteCONSUMER ALERT:  Annual Minutes are not to be confused with Annual Reports.  You are not required to file "Annual Minutes" with any agency; they are to be kept by the business entity itself.  Please be aware that notices are being mailed to business entities requesting that "Annual Minutes" and a fee of $125.00 be returned for filing. These notices are NOT from the Dept. of State, Division of Corporations, or any other state or federal agency.

Please just throw this green envelope away.
