Looks like Fuddrucker's is trying to move forward. Here is a conceptual view of the outside. Lets hope this bid is for real!

Good for them, downtown and the Landing.  I noticed that the entrance to the restaurant will be in the mall as opposed to the courtyard.  Hopefully, that changes because they don't appear to taking advantage of having an outdoor seating area near the main courtyard.

I thought they were dead in the water for sure.  Good thing they're finally moving forward.

Does their space have frontage on Water Street?

thelakelander

No. Its right next to Twisted Martini.

Ahh, ok.  For some reason I was thinking it was between the mall corridor and Water Street.  I gotcha now.

Good to see it moving ahead. Hopefully they put out a good product. My experiences with their locations have been hit or miss.

Wow - I'm pleasantly shocked.  I thought this was beyond dead.

so...there are floorplans...there were floorplans for "The Cove" and the Kuhn project at Barnett Bank Building also.

anyone know a new timeframe for completion?

Sleiman's still using that space (what is it -- four store fronts, five?) for storage for his little attempt at a bar that used to be where there was always a candy store.  Unless they've begun some dramatic work since I left for New Haven Thursday, nothing, NOTHING has happened in that space.

I could write a tome on the misleading mistake that that space is.

For what it's worth, we were told they would take advantage of the breezeway for seating.  Two years ago, was it?

From a Jacksonville.com article on food at the landing.

"David Farmer is among those betting on the Landing. Farmer, who lives downtown, has been working on a deal to open a Fuddruckers hamburger restaurant at the Landing for years and said the end is finally in sight.

Construction, which has started and stopped in spurts over the years, is now fully under way, Farmer said. He expects an opening by the end of the year."

let's see if it really opens by the end of the year.

is it possible to chalk up the delays just to little to no ambition on the part of the people Farmer is working with in this town?

Who does Farmer work for?

I'm excited that this is finally moving forward.  I can't wait.  Fuddrucker's rocks, and it'll give me another reason to go to the Landing more often.

I agree with the article that there is nothing special at the Landing to go out of your way for. Now, if Fuddruckers at the Landing is the only one in town for a while, then that may change. Also, I am a bit concerned about all the health violations.

I'll be fine with Fuddrucker's if there are no health violations there too!
Some of the violations they listed for that "Bourbon Express" were just gross and scary
