I'm having a hard time finding inexpensive ways to entertain my kids this week. I don't see any special events at the libraries, cheap movie showings at the smaller theatres, or little events at the parks. If you know of any daytime events, please help. Thanks!

How old are the kids? How many? Have they ever been in a kayak? Mayor Brown is Making Downtown a Destination and not a pass through and has identified some super spots with more announcements coming. Let me know and we'll Make It Happen. Fishing is another option.

@Noone - Kids are turning 5 and 7 within the week. We've done the canoe thing, but I don't plan to do that as a solo parent at this age (I get to work from home over break, but hubby at work during week). Hoping for something close by in the Riverside/Avondale/San Marco area and something that requires very VERY little $$.

Love the free music idea! Wish there were some kind of movies or music in a park during day.
