JTA and your highly paid consultants...."Your slip is showing..."

Ocklawaha

For those who were at the "Rail Study" we all were shown photos of all types of commuter rail, LRT and trolleys (Note for JTA officials: these "Trolleys" have steel wheels and roll on steel rails"). A quip from the main speaker came out fast in text of his little talk. "Streetcars are slow, and must compete with automobile traffic..." Gee, where and when did I hear that before? 1980, 81, 82, 83, 84? JCCI? JTA? DDA? COJ? Yes! all of the combined wisdom of the Jacksonville universe tossed this out at us. If any of you missed it, I have the whole thing recorded!

For those who fear God, JTA and those giant fire breathing rail cars bearing down on you at some downtown stop light, racing your MG for position in the next parking garage, or cutting you off at the next corner, I offer a simple photo.

and just in case JTA has you convinced these giant beasts were some morph form of train-size auto eater, here's a close up today...

So JTA, your slip is showing, again and again... Yes, this pretty cream and red streetcar CAN run right down the lane, stop at the light behind your red pickup truck, and move on up the street... Just like a City Bus (gee did I say that?) But after it leaves Springfield, and heads for the Airport, Orange Park or the Beaches, (just for "progressive" example) it is fully able to leave the highway, and act like Amtrak... 80 MPH in about 1/2 the time of a diesel train.

Notice the riders Ocklawaha?  Maybe that's what the JTA is afraid of.  If people use this form of transporation they are not using the correct Firestone Tires form of transportation equipped with Firestone air suspension and Firestone chassis, suspension, and control arm bushings.  JTA can't have that.
'As a sinner I am truly conscious of having often offended my Creator and I beg him to forgive me, but as a Queen and Sovereign, I am aware of no fault or offence for which I have to render account to anyone here below.'   Mary, queen of Scots to her jailer, Sir Amyas Paulet; October 1586

We are going to win JTA over (force if we have to) for a great mass transit plan in Jax.  While I'm feeling positive we will also one have a high speed train in Florida.
