While much ado and attention has been given to Rick Scott's proclamation that he want's to give teachers raises, much less attention has been focused on the issue of how Scott is funding child safety in Schools.  The School Boards had asked Scott for $200 million to put a police officer in every school and to address changes needed in school buildings for child safety.  What they got was an increase of $10.4 million, roughly 5 cents on the dollar requested.  I seriously hope that the Governor will do much better than this.  I don't want any Florida school to become a future bad example via a tragic experience as a result of not funding these improvements.
