The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 is underway in Las Vegas.

This show renown for the interesting and the mundane.  From 250" LED TV's to Internet connected refrigerators (need milk, it emails the store for you!) you will see anything that can be thought of in the world of electronics.

In my former life, I always looked forward to this time of the year because it meant that I would go to SEMA, come home for the holidays and then turn around and start off the year at CES.  It's always nice to sandwich in Las Vegas before and after the holidays. 

One thing I learned very quickly about CES (other than Vegas becoming a huge sausage party during that week) was that very few of the smaller companies would introduce products that were actually going to marketplace.  They scraped enough money to buy a small exhibit space, an allowance for taking potential clients to Spearmint Rino and brought a sometimes half functional prototype hoping some bigger company would buy it.  CES then became a large marketplace for buyers.  You learned very quickly which buyers knew what they were doing.
