Point well taken, damn thing still looks like an 'explosion in a pillar factory.' In northern Indiana I saw many little bridges, overpasses, creeks etc. with totally decorative signatures on them, be cool if we could do the same.

Pictures Ock?

Just some random underpass enhancement images.

How awesome would this be as you enter into various In-Town neighborhoods? Consistent branding and accentuates that our in-town neighborhoods are all an essential part of the urban core. Frankly, I really like these.

Wow, what great ideas! Just make sure you stop the overzealous Jax city enforcers from accosting the artists trying to make these areas beautiful!

These beams are seen all across Indiana, they are not all load bearing and some lean in, some out, while others actually arch over. It is a very interesting break in the same old - same old. I do hope to have some photos shortly of a company that does 'bridge decor' all around the country, if/when they get back to me.

I would say a big fat "FACE!" to the FDOT guy who said it was illegal before getting context. LOL. Guess they sent him back to FDOT 201 and retake the class on FHA design codes.

Actually the guy behind that statement has resigned from FDOT to run for the Clay Baker County Commission.  Good that the arrogant jerk is gone.

He beat the incumbent, getting 60% of the vote.

His family has had a feed and farm supply store in Mcclenny for a couple of generations.  They are well known and respected there.  Name recognition goes a long way in a small town.
