Skin Created Eggs to Replace Donor Eggs in Fertility Treatments?

Young women can already avoid the use of donor eggs later in life, by getting their eggs harvested and stored while they are in their twenties. The technique to freeze eggs is fairly new, but it already has helped many women to be able to "forget" about their biological clock while they pursue their careers. Kim Kardashian has just popularized this choice.

Now another treatment may eventually become available in the arsenal of fertility treatments that will further increase women's options for postponing motherhood. Additionally, this treatment will also aide women who became infertile due to cancer treatments, and those who have issues with the quality of their eggs for other reasons.

In fact, the use of donor eggs may become a thing of the past in a decade or so, if a discovery as reported in the journal Science proves to applicable in humans as well. Japanese scientists were able to take mouse skin cells to make viable mouse eggs in a laboratory dish.
