Last night I decided to visit the new Starbucks Downtown.  When I walked in I was the only person there.  There were three employees and I thought they were getting prepared to close. I ordered my coffee and sat down to read the paper. No one came in for at least 20 minutes. Someone finally came in ordred coffee and then said the woman behind the counter "please tell me your busier than this during the day?" and she said, " a little".  After he left a few more trickled in, but it was never really busy. The place is very nice, large and comfortable. I would have sat outside, but there were several bums roaming around and I didn't want to get acosted for money.  I really hope more people begin to support this place. It is cool to sit in there and look out at the Downtown scene.  Just my observations on my visit to support a Downtown establishment.

I have gone there twice, which is something because I swore off of coffebucks almost a year ago.

I think people waited so long for them open, and it took them awhile, that folks aren't really sure they are open yet. They opened last Thursday, (6/7), and are waiting until 6/29 to have an official "Grand Opening Event" (which is from 4-7 p.m. that day).

THEY ARE OPEN!!!

I agree Stephen the interior is very well done.

Im pretty sure that I may have been the guy that came in and asked about the level of business... Since there was only one other guy in there and he was reading a paper...

Kudos Starbucks!  I'm 6'6 so I really appreciate the taller chairs that are perfect for the bar height counter.

People are supporting them and I know that sometimes our bicycle group will stop by there on Sunday mornings. I agree, they did a very nice job on the interior.

I went last night.  I work at the starbucks on Southside Blvd near Bank of America and Best Buy.  After last night it may be time for a transfer to our downtown store!
I was very impressed with the giant store and for a Sunday evening the business was pretty steady!  (They were open until 9:30 on Sunday night)
This store could really help up turn the corner downtown if we can keep it packed!

There is to be a "Grand Opening" event there on Friday (6/29) from 4-7 p.m.  Apparently Mayor JP is supposed to appear and speak?
