In big cities and small cities, you make a lot of noise, you get busted by the cops eventually. I don't think there's any real excuse for antisocial behviour. Sure, we can probably all agree that people should accept that noise happens and it's a part of life - but that doesn't mean that these cyclists aren't acting like assholes or, as the OP asked, that they're "good wholesome cycling advocacy."

But it also appears that the actions of a few are bringing the whole group into disrepute. And that's a real shame.
