PERC is some very nasty s#*t. I used to install dry cleaning equipment and couldn't even be in the building when we loaded the 20-30 gal. of PERC into new machines. Made me sick as hell. I'm gonna need to see some serious legitimate studies/ cleanup before I would ever eat or inhabit anywhere PERC was used for 50 years. You would not believe what leaches out of ground and walls when you suddenly climate control something that has sat un-airconditioned for decades.

Let's keep a close eye on this one folks. Could be saving someones health or life.

Storefront and entire roof are GONE!  Only thing left is/are the four walls and floor.  (English is a weird language!)

You're 100% right just look at the facts people!

Wouldn't they have just put the PERC down the drains when it got dirty?  IS this property contaminated?

Just found out what is going in there. I ran across two guys canvassing the neighborhood with flyers for Snap Fitness moving to their new location sometime in October.

Snap Fitness? Really? Ugh....disappointed. Glad SOMETHING is happening there, but on a scale of excitement from 1-10, a new gym rates about a 1...

Guess it beats a Dollar Store or something....

Figured it would be a GREAT spot for 'town to relocate to...

It's just good that anything is going into the space.  Are they going to be using the connected building next door too?  If so that would be a significant enlargement of the size of their gym.

The flyer said 6000 sq. ft. So I assume so.

I like this development. That area gets a little more activity, and secured 24 hr activity at that, and the major limitation of the gym (size) is alleviated. An attached smoothie place or something would be cool, but I don't know the size of all the storefronts together. Then, we get something new in the former Snap space at 1661!

Though I would've been cool with 'Town or something else.

That is awesome.  I was a member at Snap when I lived in 5 points.  The staff their is fantastic, but the gym is just so small.  Despite the entire floor being covered with equipment, they still aren't able to fit in some of the basic equipment a good gym needs.  This will allow them to offer classes, provide more services, and draw in more costumers.  An attached smoothie place would be amazing, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.  Also, could this be the space that Bento chooses to open a second Jax location?  Bento and Mochi are owned by the same company and many of the bento locations are adjacent to a Mochi.  It's a stretch, but not really.

I checked out this Bento restaurant you spoke of and this would be a great idea for this area.  ;)

I just hope they don't build another Pizza place, or yogurt franchise.

I'd love a Bento right there...but with Mochi just going out of business 1 block away, I can't see Bento looking to start again in that area...

^Oh, I wasn't aware that they had closed.  Interesting.  I don't get the whole FroYo fad, but of the 4 or 5 that opened near there, I assumed Mochi would be one of the survivors
