Feds to expedite Jaxport projects

In addition to speeding up the study for deepening the channel at the port of Jacksonville, the Obama administration will expedite the federal review process for intermodal container transfer facility at the Port of Jacksonville.

The intermodal transfer facility permitting process â€" which would increase the capacity, and efficiency, of the port to move containers by on-dock rail â€" will be completed by July 2013, allowing the scheduled completion of construction in 2014 to remain on track.
