Parents sue school employees for bathing their son

Today I woke up and decided to check out foxnews.com. I stumbled upon an article about a third-grade boy's parents suing two employees at his school.

I figured it was about another ratchet human being sexually abusing a child, a teacher emotionally abusing a student to tears for not knowing the answers to a head question, or whatever bad things you hear about teachers and students.

I was shocked to see that the parents were suing for their son getting bathed.

According to the article, the boy was taken to the nurse's office, forced to take off his clothes, and scrubbed down "violently" while being harassed about being dirty and smelling bad.

The parents filed a police report, though it was dropped. Now they are suing!

My opinion: those school employees have no right to force that child to remove his clothes and touch him. If he stinks, he stinks. I think they should have, instead, reached out to the parents and expressed that it appears their son is dirty and should be cleaned so he isn't subject to ridicule by his peers or becomes isolated.

I'm all for the suit!

Should the parents sue?
Did the school have a right to do that?
Should the school have called child protective services?

What do you think?

I don't know enough about the case, but based on what you've said, I think the school should've called the boy's parents and sent him home.

Also, why is the boy dirty in the first place if he is, in fact, dirty? Based on some criminology courses I've taken at school, one of the symptoms of abused children is parents withholding them from bathing. Was this an abused child? Is he always coming to school dirty? I agree with you, I'll sit and wait for more on the story.
