I didn't see a topic opened up on this yet.  Today is the kick-off of the Inaugural French Week in Jacksonville and many restaurants and bakeries (including Moi) are participating.

In honor of Jacksonville's French roots and the commemoration of Jean Ribault's arrival April 26th - May 6th, 2012 is Jacksonville's 1st Annual French Week!

It's a celebration of Jean Ribault’s arrival here on the St. Johns River 450 years ago. Join us and the city as we indulge in our French flair with great restaurants and businesses offering French Week Specials.

Le Chat Noir - Cupcake Bordello and Bakery have partnered with Green Man Gourmet in Avondale, to hold an event, Saturday, May 5th, from 1pm - 4pm.  We will be sampling several varieties of our authentic French macarons which include traditional flavors like, French lavender, Rose, Chocolate, and Pistachio, to the more exotic (and unique to Le Chat Noir), Matcha green-tea with black sesame and adzuki beans.

In addition to the samples, Green Man Gourmet is planning another great lineup of entertainment as they do for all of their great weekend events.  We will also have 1/2 dozen French macaron variety packs for sale.

While this event marks the last weekend of the first ever French Week, it marks the beginning of a partnership between Le Chat Noir - Cupcake Bordello and Bakery and Green Man Gourmet as our French macarons will now be available for sale in their retail store!

We are very excited and look forward to seeing all of you there!

LOL.  Yes, but I saw where I seemed to have a bit of a copy/paste issue and corrected ;-)

I couldn't resist. I might try and stop by for a cupcake or two, as I'll be in town on the 4th.

It's nice to see the French history of North Florida being celebrated.

Well, since we are in a public forum, if I were not doing well I would merely tell everyone I was ;-)  But seriously, it's going well!  We are coming up on 1 year in Jacksonville in June and hope to be building out our storefront by our anniversary (have a location in mind, working on build-out costs/design & lease negotiations).

It will be unlike any other dessert/cupcake place you've been to in town or any other city and yes, our pastries are and will remain authentic to the French techniques (no mixes, no shortcuts).

Our intent is to start with the cupcakes, macarons. profiteroles, eclairs, cream-puffs, and coffee service, with speciality items added for various holidays, then build on the selection as the demand warrants.

Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to French Week. May have to have a few glasses of wine in memory of the wine Laudonniere received from John Hawkins on August 3, 1565.
