ok. now that I got your attention, it's a limited strike down. They also want the old courthouse torn down immediately and replaced with open green space.

Also,

"Though it supported limitation, the board also unanimously supported the food trucks to conduct business Downtown after 11 p.m. and during some special events."
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Sure.  We've seen plenty of examples of 'open green areas' after demolition.

I thought the quote from Don Redman demonstrating his overwhelming support of downtown improvement was another highlight of that article.

Woooeeee... that is certainly generous...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

The last thing downtown needs is "open space".

Have they noticed the "green space" at the shipyard is not even being used? Why create more dumbasses  ::)

Outlawing food trucks is government intrusion in our free market economy. I expect a tea party protest.

Good example of why downtown has struggled and will continue to do so, despite the amount of cash thrown its way.  More over regulation instead of properly researching pros and cons before decision making and continued demolition of building fabric without a viable funded redevelopment plan.

Until they line the sidewalk with crepe myrtles.

Or...heaven forbid... food trucks...

Well atleast this is just a suggestion by DVI and they are not decision makers. Lets hope the city council is not smoking crack when they have their meeting. Otherwise, the Jail house view will get even better.

Will it?  Unless they are planning to green that ugly concrete parking deck over the river sitting behind the courthouse, its going to have a view of blight and the back of Hyatt.
