Any Metropolitan Lofts residents?

Hello all...

I'd like to hear from someone who lives in the Metropolitan Lofts... my wife & I are considering leasing there.

How is the maintenance staff? Are they responsive to problems?

How is the internet access, I understand they have wired & wireless... speed is nice, but I'm more worried about reliability.

How is the neighborhood, etc? Anything I should know? We've seen a model and a vacant unit and were very impressed..

We are a couple living at the Metropolitan for almost a year and we're loving it.
Some pros:
- Location is great. You can certainly walk to any of the downtown spots and although the area might look eerie at times, it's surprisingly safe. Easy access to all major thoroughfares.
- New concierge service is great and offers many extras like dog walking, grocery deliveries, car wash .... not free of charge but it's nice to have these options when you live in a neighborhood pretty short on services (especially after hours).
- Maintenance is great. We never encountered any problems with the personnel or the work they do.
There was a major water leakage problem with a lot of windows in the building, but now there's a crew working on the exterior doing some major re-caulking. The damage on the inside was quickly fixed by the maintenance.
- Wireless broadband service is provided throughout the building. It was extremely unreliable when we first moved in, but now it's upgraded and working flawlessly (at least on our side of the building on Pearl St.)
- There are parties, art shows and other gatherings organized in the lobby and in neighboring establishments, which is very nice not just for the residents but for the whole downtown community.
Some cons:
- Loft style living might not be for everybody. It sounds cool and it looks amazing, but the open floor plan and lack of privacy might be challenging for certain people. Think ahead.

All in all, it's a great place to live and we highly recommend it. Good luck!

Jason

Thanks for chiming in, I've been curious about that building.
