“WE REMEMBER RAINES”
THE DOCUMENTARY FILM OF A JEWEL IN THE
JACKSONVILLE COMMUNITY

Tickets are $10.00 with some of the proceeds to benefit
Raines High School student college preparatory testing efforts.

The documentary film “WE REMEMBER RAINES” will be
released at a premier showing at William M. Raines Senior High
School on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

Director and Raines alumnus Emanuel Washington’s captures the
essence of how one school inspired a whole community.
Under the leadership of Dr. Andrew A. Robinson’s, its first principal,
his vision for academic, athletic, and social excellence was the foundation
that transformed the mindset of students who attended, along with those
who desired to attend this dynamic educational institution.
His longstanding mantra of “Ichiban” (the Japanese term for number #1)
continues to resonate within the hearts of Viking alumni.

This 90 minute documentary film is a culmination of two years of video,
photos, interviews, quotes, and commentary from individuals in the
African-American community of Jacksonville.

This who’s who list includes persons from the educational,
governmental, cultural, athletic and spiritual arenas who have
graduated or been on the faculty at one of Northeast Florida’s
renowned schools. Some of the Individuals are: Jimmie Johnson,
Betty Burney, Mia Jones, Reuben Hall, Tonyaa Weathersbee,
Brian Dawkins, Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin, and many other leaders
and outstanding persons who have impacted the community,
the state, and the nation.

“We Remember Raines”
is a production of Maximum Films and Private Side Media.
