Corner Taco's converted Airstream is one of Jacksonville's newest food trucks

Quoteorner Taco is not your average taco truck.

In fact, it’s not a truck at all. And calling it a trailer seems a bit of an insult when you consider it’s a shiny, 47-year old Airstream Globetrotter converted into one of Jacksonville’s newest food trucks.

And Corner Taco doesn’t serve your average tacos, either.

Here, chicken, fish and beef tacos are all products of one simple principle: Handcrafted with ingredients you can pronounce.

That’s the cornerstone of Corner Taco’s mission, as defined by chef/owner Chris Dickerson of Atlantic Beach. Everything in your taco is made from scratch â€" and made on site, including the corn tortillas.

QuoteIn its second month of business, Corner Taco is still working on finding the best locations to set up for lunch.

“The trick is in finding the right spot where people will appreciate the food and what we’re doing,” Dickerson said.

His ideal spot would be one of Jacksonville’s farmers markets, including the Riverside Arts Market, which operates on Saturdays underneath the Fuller Warren Bridge on Riverside Avenue.

Earlier this month, Dickerson expanded his lunchtime operations to include Tuesdays, at PSS World Medical on Jacksonville’s Southside.

“We had a lot of positive feedback at PSS,” Douglas said.

In addition to weekday lunch service, Dickerson said he’d like to explore event catering, especially wedding receptions.

But his ultimate plan is to have five Airstream food truck trailers, each offering a different cuisine, set up in a “trailer park.”

Maybe one of the trailers might visit here in Riverside/Avondale?
Unless it closed, there is an Airstream place 500 feet away from Bold City...on King and Roselle. Maybe park outside of Cork?
If they are charging more than $3 per Taco...don't bother showing up.
(a Fully loaded Pepe's taco with avocado and lime/cilantro is still $1.75)
