On this Sunday, the 5th, at the Thief In The Knight Gallery, 117 W.  Adams Street, next to Chew, is to be a performance of classic story telling by the Georgia group called the Unchained Tour.  The time is 7:30 p.m.  Check their site at www.theunchainedtour.org.  The tour is done in conjunction with independent bookstores such as ours.

The confirmed story tellers on this tour include Edgar Oliver, Savannah born playwright and raconteur of the Edinburg Festival.  Peter Aguero, a multitalented artist currently hosting the Moth and leading New York’s improvisational storytelling rock band, the BTK band; Elna Baker, famous Mormon, comedian, author and contributor to “This American Life”; and Joan Juliet Buck, the novelist, actress (“Julie and Julia”), and esteemed former editor of French Vogue.  The musician is Shovels and Rope, a Charleston based “sloppy tonk” band consisting of Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst.  Hearst’s song “Hell’s Bells” ended episode six of this season’s “True Blood” series on HBO.  Etc… etc.

This is their first time in Jax.  It would be great to give them support and have them return each year.  There will be tickets at the door, and we are selling the tickets at both bookstore locations.  Tickets are $10.00.  This should be fun. Tell your friends.  Hope to see you there.   :)
