Building was built in 1904 and the inside is quite nice.

What buildig is that?  Is it the one directly adjacent to the northside of Lit?  Only other one there is the Jaguar building, as sweet as that would be, I'm sure that's not it.

Yeah it's definitely not the Jaguar building. It's the old scooter shop building that's next to LIT. I wonder how LIT is doing these days. Maybe 1904 and LIT can feed off of each other. Especially now that Ivy is gone.

That building must have had a major facade job because it certainly doesn't look like it's from 1904

there is an ad in Folio Weekly this week....

1904 opens next Wednesday (ArtWalk) with 4 bands

and yes, it is the strip next to Lit...it is actually 3 old storefronts combined into one large space...and from what I could see (before they put brown paper on the windows) is that the back wall is exposed brick.

Hmm well I hope the venue looks better than their website. (waka waka) Regardless, I'm sure it'll be great. It's a welcome addition to Downtown. Art Walk is a great time to open. Tons of foot traffic and great way to get the word of mouth to spread afterwards.

and here's a new website for the Chamber's renovations

That's a terrible website. Hopefully they change it as they open. What is the deal with the glut of badly designed websites out there? That being said, I hope this venue can maintain itself. Sounds like a good concept and creates some diversity in the nightlife scene.

Relax folks....I'm sure it is a placeholder for now...and that next Wednesday's event is more like a pre-opening thing to coincide with ArtWalk

Tacachale

^Yes. As much as it looks like something that you'd find stuck under your windshield wipers coming out of the electronic cigarette place (blam), they're clearly just trying to get something going before ArtWalk. This place sounds like a very welcome addition to downtown and Jax's music scene in general.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Anyone know if there's any upcoming plans for the Ivy space? I was told that someone already has plans for it, but I don't know how credible the source is.

Tacachale

We checked out the new 1904 last night at art walk. Not open for reals yet, but it's a REALLY cool space. I have high hopes for this one.

Yeah I walked by it last night during Art Walk. I was kinda surprised as to how big the space is.

Well at least the two new 7-11's are a step in the right direction.

I dont know what is going on with the 7-11 at the corner of Forsyth and Julie, no action for weeks now. the other at Main and State is moving right along.

I think the plan is to furnish and open them both at the same time....so Laura/Julia needs to wait for the new building to catch up.
