They need more national brand chain stores in DT..

I don't think it's at the point where it could support that kind of thing.  IMO it's got to build up with local/smaller joints to drive activity (and the number of residents) up then bring in larger businesses.   Once the market is there they will come on their own.

^ mmm a bar. Where was the bar located :)

I think you all are talking about Minggle City Cafe, in between the old Chew location and La Shea's Restaurant.  I don't really know what they are doing with that space.  For a few weeks, they were attempting to serve lunch and now it only opens on certain nights.

1904 is going to be a live music venue with capacity for 200 or so. Based on a guy I know that is involved with it, I'd guess it will be pretty diverse stuff, but more towards the jam band, experimental electronic/hip hop side of things.

1904 seems very intriguing.

Yeah, I was part of a show there last November. It was an interesting venue but def set up only for private and special events. They were barely equipped to even serve drinks that night

1904 is intriguing indeed...I know some of the guys that are involved are pretty plugged into the music scene and have some good out of town booking connections. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them do well...and I understand the space has room for expansion if needed.

Building was built in 1904 and the inside is quite nice.

Ennis, want me to put you in touch to do a MJ writeup/photo tour?

Good to hear more businesses opening up downtown! 2012 is looking pretty good for downtown.

Great News! I too am intrigued by 1904. Looking forward to it.

Glad to hear about the 7-11, too.

Its looking great! I am glad to see the "outward" trend in this city reversing. Im stoked at all the bars/resturants/retail giving downtown a chance. That coupled with the facade grants, outdoor seating, Everbank move, the proposed 7-11's and the 220 project (if it gets off the ground this time),I think this will give downtown the jolt that is has been looking for.

The men's clothing store interest me much.  This is so needed.  I use to shop in The Landing all the time.

Pink Cupcake is gonna be in a pretty odd location, a coupla stores down from BB&T; This is my first time witnessing an eatery within the inner halls of the Landing (usually clothing places, art galleries etc are there). I saw some activity (moving large boxes) today at the location where Fuddruckers was supposed to be, and I saw some Harley Davidson posters outside that area. Do anyone know what is going on there (perhaps AJ Resse?) or is it still just a temporary storage area? The Landing's food court desperately needs some restaurants; There are four empty restaurants in the food court (half empty if I not mistaken 4/8).

What buildig is that?  Is it the one directly adjacent to the northside of Lit?  Only other one there is the Jaguar building, as sweet as that would be, I'm sure that's not it.
