As I enter my Larry Bird years (33), I felt it appropriate to celebrate with a few pints washing down some authentic boxtys and shepherd pies at the new Fionn MacCools location at the Jacksonville Landing, right on the waterfront in beautiful downtown Jacksonville from 6-8pm this Wednesday Jan 11th.

And b/c we are celebrating on the waterfront, we’ll be helping the St Johns Riverkeeper raise funds for the new year.  I invite everyone to come down for a pint. I’ll be offering raffle tickets for $2 a piece.  I ask each of you to buy at least one raffle ticket(100% proceeds go to the Riverkeeper).  You can certainly buy as many as you would like, but I only ask for each of you to purchase AT LEAST one(it’s only $2).  At 8pm, we’ll be doing a drawing for a few prizes… mostly food and drink gift certificates around town.  Even if you don’t win something, the river does and that’s a gift that is much more priceless.  You don’t have to be present to win.

From 6-7pm, happy hour prices are in effect ($3 domestic drafts, $4 import drafts, $3 house wine and $3 wells).  The Landing also has a $10 off $30 deal where on Wednesday any check over $30 will receive $10 off(and free parking in the Landing parking lot), so a few pints and a meal could add up to some great savings.

Bring a friend, loved one or even an un-loved one.  Everyone is welcome.  We’ll be celebrating on the patio.  Fionn MacCools is located at the Jacksonville Landing, closest to the Main Street Bridge.
Thank you and I genuinely hope to see you Wednesday,
Mike

Happy Birthday! Hopefully you won't be running up and down the Riverwalk in your birtday suit later and it turns into a monstrous Pub Crawl. LOL!!! I'm kidding.

Put me down for $2 for the River and the pier.

I won't make it.  Field in the near future for a birthday present  if you want to bring your fishing pole I've got a gut feeling that we will just tear it up under the Hyatt in a kayak. We can throw out some dates and I bet we Khan Make It Happen.

Happy Birthday again. I have you by 20.

Strange, the first post looks very similar to an email I received.  I'll be there ready to buy out all the raffle tickets. I have you by -8

I have just one question.

Will they be serving Bold City's new beer, Rhino Rye?  That stuff is incredible.  I specifically went to High Tide Burrito last night just so I could get a pint and they were out.  The Dukes was still good, but I am craving the Rye.

Unless they got a keg in with NFS' latest restock, they didn't have the Rhino last week... but they do have two taps for Bold City and two taps for Intuition(Each of which I have gift certificates for in the raffle)... and plenty of Guiness, Smithwicks, etc so there is plenty of opportunity to drink a good pint.

Hey, I get old and forget things.

Miss Fixit

We'll stop by for a beer and a couple of tickets in between driving children to greek school, dance class and piano lesons (that's what REALLY old people do on Wednesday night!).

Love this idea!

Hope to see you all tonight. If you can’t make it, be sure to tell a friend. If you are already coming out, invite a friend.

Come before 7 and you can get a pint of beer, cocktail or glass of wine along with one raffle ticket for as little as $5.  That small amount of money helps the river and supports a downtown business at the same time.  There aren’t many better ways to spend $5 locally on a Wednesday night.

Some of the items we are raffling off tonight include:
Bold City Brewery prize pack
Intuition Ale gift certificate
Hawthorn Hair Salon gift certificate
Dozen mini cupcakes Sweet By Holly
Jacksonville Landing gift certificate (good for any restaurant in the Landing)
Two tickets to the Moes Southwest Grill Lacrosse Classic at Everbank Field
Gift certificate Olio Restaurant
Bold Bean Roasters gift certificate
Two tickets to the UF/FSU baseball game at the Baseball Grounds

Hoping to have a few more by tonight.

Every cent of proceeds raised from raffle ticket sales goes to the St Johns Riverkeeper.  Even if you don’t win, our community does.

Raffle tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10.  Happy hour prices in effect until 7pm.  Get $10 off any bill of $30 or more AND get parking validated in the Jacksonville Landing parking lot.  As always, free metered parking downtown after *6pm(best kept secret downtown is that the meter readers go home at 5pm).

Who were the winners of the raffle?
How much was raised?
Happy birthday again and with the fundraising effort too.

A few forum members won, I owe miss fixit, Steve, and peejayeyes some gc's.  Had 38 people show up on an otherwise dead night at Fionn MacCools and we raised $342 for the Riverkeeper.
