The thread title scared me a little.

Oh yeah!  I hope they follow through in Avondale too.

Hmm, so it's presumably going to be drive up location between State and Union. That's too bad.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Captain Zissou

This sounds awful compared to the original Bahri design.  I hope the city vetoes their design changes.

fsujax

Not sure how this new design is going to look. According to the article alot of the originally proposed enhancements are not going to be included in the new concept.

If I had to guess, I'd say that they decided they wanted a set back car-ready convenience store, and moved it to where they could put one.

remember that the original gas station proposed for the site had the same idea....it was only after working with DDRB that their design changed...so, as they say, keep hope alive!

I made a request for an electronic version of Thursday's DDRB agenda.  When the email comes in, I'll post sketches of the proposed design.

What a fantastic location.  ::)

Another location Downtown coming. From the DailyRecord.

We reported Friday that the design for a freestanding 7-Eleven store at 9 N. Main St. was approved, but that won’t be the only place Downtown to buy a Slurpee or a Big Gulp. The international convenience store chain has leased space in the concourse of the BB&T Building at 200 W. Forsyth St. for a pedestrian-friendly, urban-design unit.

Let's hope they at least make it visible with some signage!
