Did Jacksons close down?

Not sure if they were ever open on Monday nights, but it's all closed up.  Seems like I drove past one night last week and it seemed empty and dark, too.

As an aside, what is it with places in Riverside not using proper apostrophization?  Jacksons, Walkers, Biscottis?

Yes, its closed. I don't know if business was down, but from what I hear, they had some waitress who was busted for stealing from them.

Never noticed the apostrophe issue. Good eye.

That being said, not surprised Jacksons closed down. Menu was...well...typical. Inside was typical. The whole place looked like one big afterthought of someone who saw the place for rent and said "we should put a restaurant here."

I stopped by for lunch just last week and they were open for business as Jacksons' Grille / Jackson's Grill.  The only thing that was pointed out was that they weren't a bar-b-que place anymore, just a sandwich place.

BTW, I don't know the ownership as well as you, of course, but does Jackson own the grill?!  Does Walker own the wine bar?! or does a biscotti own biscottis?!

Superfluous apostrophes should be a crime; along with commas, exclamation points, lower-case proper names and semi-colons.....

Have you ever stopped, to , think that """ neither a Jackson, ! or a, ' Walker;,!' or a biscotti own the actual restaurant?

Have you ever stopped, to , think that """ neither a Jackson, ! or a, ' Waler;,!' or a biscotti really ever gave a shit to the grammer (sic) that they presented, ;   to the generel (sic) public?

Have you ever been pissed when a question was answered by another question?

I suppose I hadn't thought of it that way, NRW :-)

Perhaps somebody named Walker doesn't own Walkers, and somebody named Jackson doesn't own Jacksons, a la Matthew's, or, say, Mel's Diner.  Even the guys that own Carmine's and the nameless, faceless corporate suits that run J. Alexander's, though, understand the idea of conjuring up a fictitious person to name your restaurant after.

But I'm not sure that a wine bar named after two or more people walking somewhere, or a restaurant named after two or more people named Jackson makes sense.  Although I don't know that any of these are more preposterous than, uh, T.G.I. Friday's.  WTF kind of name is that for a restaurant owner?  Did someone with the last name Friday really have the bad taste to name their kid Thomas George Ichabod (or something like that)?  And then that kid grew up to develop a horrendous restaurant concept that makes millions of dollars?

So final question - Jenkins BBQ.  Sounds good as is because the surname, obviously, is "Jenkins" (as opposed to "Jacksons", because I'm pretty sure nobody in the US has the surname Jacksons).  Should it be Jenkins' BBQ?  Regardless, I could go for a rib sandwich about now.
