This is the lead news or commentary coming up tomorrow morning with Joy Purdy on TV12, starting at 4:30am.

I wonder how they came up with this after Sheriff Rutherford boasted a double digit decline in certain crimes with an overall decline in all crimes.

I'm not up that early so maybe there will be someone here to watch and then comment.

Well were no longer the murder capitol for the moment so that's good enough for me. LOL

It's been a while since I looked at the report, but I wonder what statistics she'd be talking about.

Even the murder rate business was always kind of off. First, Jacksonville didn't have the highest murder rate of any city in Florida. Duval County had the highest murder rate all Florida counties with a population of 500,000 people or more. There were several counties smaller than that that had higher murder rates. It makes sense to exclude small counties - Glades County had one murder, giving it something like a 10% murder rate - but setting the bar at 500,000 also excludes Escambia County (Pensacola), which had just under 500,000 people but the highest murder rate in the state.

I wonder what categories we're the worst in.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
