I HAVE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT OUR FRIEND HAS BEEN FOUND!!

She rear ended a truck near Moncrief and Soutel but is fortunately unhurt. She is NOT supposed to be driving but found the hidden keys and just took off.

Thanks to all!

Please look at this flyer. Our friend and neighbor has been reported missing today. A few more eyes can't hurt.

The only missing person on that link is a child in Hollywood. What is this about?

This thread is very vague, and isn't explained well at all. Thread creator, please explain the thread more through. Is this thread about the Silver Alert concerning the elderly woman?

Ralph, what friend? Friend of yours? Friend of MJ and it's readers? Young friend? Elderly Friend? Disabled Friend? Found what car keys? Where? When did he she go missing? Was this posted for our readers? Was an alert issued? How? We'd all like to offer our cheers, but nobody can figure out exactly who or what we're cheering...

Ralph W

Sorry if my thread was confusing.

Yes, this was a friend of mine and there was a silver alert issued by FDLE - that is the link in the first post.

I thought that with all the people, both regular users and all those who just lurk on Metro Jax who might help by spreading the word or being extra vigilant while out and about, I would put out the information because so many people do not see the one-time news blurb on TV or the info on the signs over the highway. I should have added a request to pass the word.

I think she had been missing for at least 4 hours before we, as friends, got the word.

The original title of the thread was ***MISSING PERSON***, however, I changed the title to add FOUND when the word came in that she was uninjured after the traffic accident and on her way home.

I also didn't mention that she is early stage dementia or perhaps Alzheimer's and fades off occasionally. Her husband hides the car keys for this reason but she found them and drove off. Her intent, as reported when she was found, was to drive the car to her home town - in GERMANY.

We are fortunate that she only got as far as she did. She had a full tank of gas and could have been several hundred miles away instead of lost and wandering so close to home. The unfortunate accident is probably the only reason she was found as fast as she was.

Ah, okay. Ralph, I'm glad your friend has been found and hope she stays safe.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Ocklawaha

Ralph, might I suggest having your friend look into a combination-keypad for the ignition or doors of the car. For around $300 dollars m/l it's pretty good insurance.

I did follow this thread and saw it when it was posted.. however he changed the title of it and some of the material on it as well so I can see how the confusion came about. I also saw this on News4jax.com... I am just glad his friend is okay and even though there was an accident , no injuries.  All is well that ends well.
