The Jacksonville Jaguars

Jags might need to knock about $50 million off that Lot J ask at this rate.

So sad to see how badly Shad Khan has run this team into the ground.

Great businessman, excited about some of the things he's doing off the field, but this team really is running off fans in alarming numbers.

Shad's patience and tolerance for abysmal football is an abomination to the sport. That and his hiring practice of always keeping someone leftover from a previous regime that gets fired - this time deciding to make Baalke our GM. The same Baalke who was a subordinate to the worst GM in NFL history, Dave Caldwell. We have less talent on this football team than the 2011-2013 seasons. I've tuned out most games this season but decided to just relax yesterday and watch some football. I turned it off at the half. As teams are now fighting for playoff births or better seeding, the jags are absolutely dead-in-the-water the rest of the season. At most, we squeak out 1 more win this season. Shad Khan is the sale of JEA in person.

I agree.  Shad Khan has to be the primary reason the Jags are where they are.  They have always had a problem choosing players and then keeping them.  How many players on the current roster would even play on any other decent team in the NFL?  They are dreadful.  The players are inept, the coaching is bad, the ownership is a joke.  My dream is that Shad sells the team to someone with a love for the game and not just the dollar.  Being in the stands for a Jags game is much like having a picnic at the Buckman St. sewer plant.

The important thing to remember is we have the biggest video boards in the NFL.

That isn't true anymore. I believe Atlanta (Mercedez Benz Stadium) and  Los Angeles (SoFi) are bigger.

Jax taxpayers are really letting the team down.

Do we?

The National Football League announced Wednesday that SoFi Stadium's Oculus video scoreboard is now complete. The 360-foot, double-sided 4K video board weighs roughly 2.2 million pounds and features 70,000 square feet of digital LED lighting. The scoreboard also has more than 260 speakers included in the structure, according to the NFL.

I guess we can argue we have the largest FLAT video boards, as the SoFi board is a ring, and 2-sided.

^ For sure, the Jags can say we have the largest video boards in Duuuuval!  Not bad for $90+ million, I guess  >:(.

I am just wondering when does viewing plays on these giant board approximate staying home and seeing the same on a big screen TV.  Maybe the NFL is undermining the live experience a bit too much based on recent attendance issues.

Speaking on behalf of fans like myself - which I know are numerous - we'd return to the stadium to watch football if there was something to cheer for. I had season tickets for about 6 years starting in 2010 then just threw up my hands and said to hell with it. It's a complete waste of a Sunday and has been for far too long to drag one's ass to that stadium, spend that kind of money and watch that kind of football played every single freaking Sunday. This team is garbage and Khan bears full responsibility for the lousy product and lousy attendance.

MusicMan

Everything you said is true, but unfortunately for US, it's been a hell of an investment for Khan. He's up well over a billion dollars, and it might be closer to 2 Billion $$$.

Unless I'm mistaken there is no ad valorum tax on sports franchises, like there would be if you owned a golf course or luxury resort...

The video boards are great, It's just the content is poor...

I don't think we're upset at Khan for any perceived lack of trying - he's certainly trying from a financial standpoint given how much he's spent. Chefs work hard in the kitchen but if they never deliver a good meal then eventually they run out of people to serve. To that analogy, it's pretty evident Khan is now turning even the most loyal of Jag fans away from the stadium on Sundays. That stadium realistically had more Red than Teal in the stands yesterday. That happens nearly every home game now.

At the end of the day, this season is a wash given the personnel left on the offensive side of the ball. This last offseason proved to be pretty awful in terms of talent acquisition via free agency and draft with the exception of Agnew - who's now done for the season. If they don't hit on at least 2/3 of the upcoming draft and FA picks, this team will still be grossly undermanned talent wise and it will be rinse and repeat. Lenny Curry for GM.

Now Agnew is out for the season.  Management is upset as they were trying to trade him. (He has been a distraction with his playmaking.)

That he makes plays is distracting? No wonder the Jags are losers.

Almost an $800 million settlement between the NFL and the city of St. Louis over the Rams relocation.

Good for St. Louis, standing up to the NFL.

All 32 owners are likely going to have to swallow a piece of this settlement.
