No way, they have Jarret Stidham, and they have 'A Plan.'

By the way, the race is on for a metal detecting wand that can also take your temperature.

I am fairly certain that they will play an entire season. The question is how many fans are allowed in the stands.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

No London games this year...
This also means that the Pittsburg game will be all Steeler fans as most Jags fans will sell tickets to recoup the added costs of 2 more unexpected games. Semi kidding, but you can get close to your total season ticket costs by selling this game.

No I'm afraid it won't be just a question of how many fans are allowed in the stands. If there's no vaccine by August, to allow games to go on do you have any idea how many tests would be needed? On top of the 53 or so players on each team you'd also have to include coaches, trainers, equipment managers, staff, referees, officials, stadium operators, security; and that's with no fans in the building. And all these tests will be sent to labs already overwhelmed providing results for people who have been waiting for days to get them (on top of the antibody tests that will be more prevalent and necessary at this stage). Multiply that by 13 to 16 times every week for 17 weeks.

And let's say you add the college football programs that insist on having their programs go on practicing these same protocols on testing when there are currently many people including important first responders and medical professionals that have trouble getting one in the first place: How much of the general public would think that having football games go on would really be prudent at that time? The smaller team NBA and MLB has had months to think of a plan and to this day can't come up with anything the NFL and NCAA could use as a model to go forward with their seasons. True things change quite quickly with this virus but it's still a lot to keep in mind if a full or even partial slate of games can be played.

And you don't want to imagine the ramifications for teams if they have a player that tests positive for the virus...

^ sports will be played this fall...this summer even - NASCAR is starting on May 17th (and yes I know some will contend it isn't a sport).

They'll be played until there's a outbreak amongst the players and then we'll be back with this NBA situation again. Fans or no fans, all it takes is one player to get sick.

Well I do hope they work out something for all these sports to be played (how would the 2021 draft order be determined when the Jags uable to go to TotalTank mode) but the concern I have will be later in the year if things don't level out in the next several months. In your part of Florida you don't have nearly the crisis outbreak we have in the region I live but it turns out that testing has been key to not only finding out how many are sick but it helps officials figure out how this is spreading. The idea that there will be literally thousands of NFL players and game day personnel getting test after test while some potentially exposed asymptomatic people have to wait and possibly  keep exposing others to a virus they don't know they have due to delays in processing and lack of testing supplies aren't the best optics for the league.

And let's say a lineman from a team has a potential positive Covid-19 result and has to be monitored and out for 14 days, so would the entire team and coaching staff they way they're in close contact and huddle, have meetings with coaches and gather around crowded locker rooms. The other option for that team besides defaulting would be to reschedule the match-up all rested from their quarantine against that team that may have had to play many weeks before and all banged up.

With that possibility, and that they given up lucrative gate and concession revenue with the fan lockout and the money from TV advertising will be significantly reduced due to uncertainty of these games and less disposable income in this economy, the teams may find it better to just cut their losses by not go through the expense of holding these games and just regroup next year. Postponement and shortening of the season is the most likely scenario at this point but we will need some medical and situational breakthroughs to come about.

The Miami Dolphins are planning for socially distant attendance:

There was also talk of limiting attendance to 15,000 fans. Hard Rock Stadium can hold 65,326 fans, but the adjustment would space out the seating to follow social distancing guidelines.

According to a Dolphins spokesperson, everything mentioned on the "Good Morning America" segment were proposed ideas that were still in the planning stages. However, the Dolphins will follow the NFL and U.S. Government guidelines when sporting events are deemed safe again.

I personally am open to the idea of Cam Newton as a back up to Minshew, if he can pass a physical.

Cam has publicly said that he's not going to take a backup position and will wait until a team needs a starter if need be.

I don't blame him.  He's never been a backup since he's been in the NFL.
