^4th and a 6th is probably a more realistic way to look at it.

Sad to see him go, but it was probably inevitable at the end of the year.

Not really. Sure it's likely to be near the end of the rounds. But before the compensatory picks that are added to the end of the round.

I read an update that the third rounder would be the later of any compensatory picks they receive.  If they don't get any, then it's their actual 3rd rounder.

So a top of the 4th round pick is about right.

Two London games for the Jags next year.

One "home," one "away."

"Home" game likely against Oakland.

Where's this coming from?

pierre

One home and one away game (back to back, I assume) has always made sense for the Jags. And with a being a pseudo-home field advantage, it beats playing a true road game.

Although I suspect it will lead to even more "JAGS-TO-LONDON" talk about the national NFL media.

KenFSU

^Correct, sorry, Oakland would be the "away" game.

It's a leak that's been making its rounds today, by a proven source who accurately leaked the Rams trade and Landry Jones earlier this week.

That Philly game was really annoying when it comes to the crowd support. It damn near sounded like Lincoln Financial Field most of the game. So much for that "loud, raucous and enthusiastic" Union Jax fanbase in London...

I didn't realise you were at the game. I wish you would've let me know you were in London - we could have actually arranged to meet up.

^^^I wasn't there (I would like to check out a Wembley game one day though). I just noticed the big difference in fan support while viewing on TV.

I read that there were lots and lots of Philadelphia fans at the game - I think a LOT of them traveled from the USA to attend. That doesn't surprise me, as they are known for being very good fans. (I remember the Eagles fans being way more fun than the Pats fans when the Super Bowl was in Jax).

Not sure about London-based support. I think most of the people who go just go to see a football game, regardless of who is winning. Most of the guys I work with who go tend to try and get tickets to the games they expect to be 'good' ones. My old manager went to the Titans - Chargers game and said it was the best he's ever seen at Wembley (and he's been to a number of them).

^^^No doubt, Eagles fans are loud and proud. You're right (people going to see a game regardless of wins). Wembley seemingly has that "Pro Bowl on steroids" atmosphere, with all 32 teams representing.

Yeah - I'm not saying a London-based team won't work, but I think the NFL has a good thing going right now and I wonder if they could actually translate the enthusiasm for three games featuring different teams into a season-long commitment for a local team.

It's fun and it's a bit of an event. They'd be smart to keep it that way.

This was the first regular season game in England for the Eagles. They said that the Eagles season ticket holders had a waiting list for their allocation of tickets. So certainly it was an event for them...Jags, in addition to being a much smaller market, were playing their 6th year in a row in London so you don't see the same enthusiasm for traveling across the pond. I don't think there's any doubt the Jags have a loyal and decent sized fan base in Europe, it's just not exactly big enough to keep the visiting teams out. I'm pretty sure the percentage of Jags fans was way more than the ratio of Rams-to-Packers fans in LA last week.

Well, it probably helps logistically that there are more convenient and / or direct flight options out of Philly.  Perhaps we should start there (JIA/Jags) - even if it's a series of charters.
