Your OL does look pretty piss pour but all those sacks weren't necessarily the OL's fault. I also wouldn't expect much of the running game. There's no real threat of a passing game and the RB's aren't exactly top of the line.  Mix that up with a substandard OL and a backup QB and what you see is what you get. Btw, when the line completely fall a part? Even though they've had several losing seasons, MJD did manage to put up decent numbers for most of his time in Jax. Anyway, it's not too late to call up Richie Incognito. You guys could use a nasty asshole or two to fire up (or harass) his teammates.

The thing that I've learned with some limited access to NFL Rewind:

During the game, we see a QB pull the ball down and 'hold' it too long.  Rewatched, you see a S or LB in coverage making a move as the QB loads up.

During the game, we see a wide open WR streaking down one side.  Rewatched, you see that WR was a straight up decoy with 3 other options on the other side of the field.

During the game, we see an unblocked OLB blow by the OT and destroy the QB.  Rewatched, you see an unblocked OLB blow by the OT and destroy the QB.

This isn't a case of me watching our QB while wearing my Blaine Gabbert 2.0, teal-colored glasses enjoying a cold glass of Hennekin...  He's OK.  He's not great.  He won't win many, if any, games on his own.  He won't win ANY games if we can't block, or game-plan, or get open, or catch the ball when we're open, or hold a team under 30 points, or have 3rd and >7 22/25 times because we can't run the ball or throw a screen or do any of the basic things that a team has to do to resemble a football team.

He's a poor man's version of Ray Lucas. A backup. He'll perform like he's supposed too. Nothing more, nothing less.  That aside, they can start to address some line issues by calling Richie. He's still available and better than anything the Jags are currently throwing out there. But you're right. There's more holes than Swiss cheese to fill. When Ray Rice wins his appeal, you might want to send him an invite too.  Just do him like the Waterboy and use reverse  Psychology during the game.  The defense is the mean lady on the elevator....

One of the big things today is that they were rushing five men for most of the day and stacking the box against the run.  They hedged their bets on Henne not being able to get the ball out quickly. A good QB would have exploited that man coverage and kept the defense honest. Instead, they ended up with 10 sacks and we ended up with two O-linemen benched.

I was watching the Steelers/Ravens game and the analysts were discussing the importance of the Center, and how the Center is now a drafted position. Steelers had an excellent line of Centers, Mike Webster, Pouncey now....and we have a new year with a new center and we should expect to have major issues with the O-line. The Center calls the blocking schemes for the entire line. We have a rookie with the Jags out there.

Should be close to a sellout for the game against Indy, but at 0-2, how long do fans show up?

So what will be louder, the boos for Chad Henne or the "We want Bortles" chants?

On the plus side, Indy has a weaker pass rush than Philly or Washington.

On the minus side, it's still Chad Henne.

Also, didn't have the heart to watch the last two minutes of the game yesterday. Quickly flipped through this morning before deleting from the DVR. Did Allen Hurns seriously get injured on a 4th and 16 in the final seconds of the game??? After the day that the Jags had and already suffering from a depleted roster, what a truly terrible, no-win call that was.

I love how people talk about the O-Line like it is some abstract thing that just exists (not what you're saying, just jumping off your comment).  This is the line Dave has built.  He had multiple opportunities to fix it.
-We drafted Joeckel when we had a LT, and then traded our LT.  Joeckel has been average at best in Pass pro, and atrocious in run blocking.
-Beadles looks like a disaster.
-We traded up in the draft for Allen Robinson, our original pick in the 3rd was then used on center Marcus Martin for the 49ers.
-We traded up to take Linder, our original pick was then used to take center Bryan Stork by New England.  Our center play was so bad we had to even try Linder at center then.

Maybe the line play gets a little better, maybe not.  But let's remember who built this line.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

4 AND 16, 3 Yard check down pass, sums up Hennes career in a nutshell, plus you get an injury on a meaningless play.

The two worst things that happened in yesterdays game.
1. Allen Hurns drops a sure touchdown pass that could have changed the game.
2. On a pointless last play of the game Hurns gets injured and we still don't know how bad.
He's got a ways to go but has shown tremendous potential.
It looks like the injuries are starting to pile up which, besides some very bad play and a horrible o-line, will doom the progress that I really thought this team would make this year.

It's beginning to resemble last year and that is so hard to take.

But on a positive note I'm still hanging in there
as a fan. I always have.

Henne is the starter for Sunday, per Gus press conference.

"Henne performed well." - Gus.

I love the Jaguars seeing some of these people on Facebook saying play Bortles bench Henne sounds very familiar.

Has there ever been a QB that the fans been happy with here? I have heard bench the starter, get a new QB ect. since the beginning of the franchise.

Would folks prefer that Bortles be sacked 10 times?

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are two of the best ever, neither one is very mobile. They are successful because

they have excellent offensive lines, and don't spend the game running for their lives or flat on their backs.

Until we get solid offensive line play it does not matter who is QB, they are not going to be very successful.

The backup QB is always the fans' favorite player.

If you don't have winning seasons - We need a new QB!  Might as well play the backup,  I'm tired of the same thing year after year.

If you win, but don't make the playoffs - We need a new QB!  Might as well play the backup,  I'm tired of the same thing year after year.

Make the playoffs, but never the Superbowl - We need a new QB!  Might as well play the backup,  I'm tired of the same thing year after year.

Make the Superbowl on the regular, but can't quite win it - We need a new QB!  Might as well play the backup,  I'm tired of the same thing year after year.

It isn't franchise specific.

The press conference in a nutshell:

Gus: The biggest thing that fans need to know is that we would all take accountability for what happens on the field... ... ... We played well, we just need to tighten things up. We feel very strongly about Chad.
