QuoteSouth Carolina's Clowney gets 110 mph ticket

By The Associated Press

COLUMBIA, S.C. | Troopers say South Carolina star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was ticketed for going 110 mph in a 70 mph zone on a South Carolina interstate.

Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones said Clowney was pulled over in a Chrysler 300 around 7:30 p.m. Saturday northbound on Interstate 77 in Fairfield County, about 25 miles north of Columbia.

Jones says Clowney was issued the ticket and allowed to drive away. It carries a $355 fine and six points, which are half the points needed to suspend a driver's license.

The university didn't make Clowney or coach Steve Spurrier available to talk.

Clowney is a junior expected to enter the NFL draft after South Carolina plays Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl. He was named to The Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference team Monday.

For the post-Coughlin era, I would also throw in the 2006 Monday Night game in Week 2, when we blanked the Super Bowl champion Steelers 9-0.

Alltel was a madhouse that night, and our defense was terrifying.

One of my favorite Jags games ever :)

That was the night of "welcome to duval, prepare to be hit!"

Meh.  On the interstate.... in a car that rides smooth.....  no suspicion of drugs or alcohol.....   non-story.

And that's coming from a Clemson alum.  :)

I noticed in recent Jags home games that they got rid of that college-esque piped in "AHHHHHHHH J! A! G! U! A! R! S! JAGUARS!!!!" chant (during kickoff) that never really caught on. I heard some people shouting it mockingly, LOL.

Two more things, I was a lil' disappointed that we didn't get a normal "DUUVAAAL" shout from the PA during the win vs the Texans; Maybe he got superstitious, thinking that is would 'reverse the curse' (winless streak at home) by not saying it.

Chill Will, or whoever the DJ is needs to kill the Harlem Shake; It just screams "Flavor of the Week in 2012". I literally cringe when that song is played. Every other NFL stadium plays Martin Garrix's "Animals" as a pretty hip techno song for 2013, and we're still playing the old internet meme song, the Harlem Shake, SMH.

Jaguars released Jeremy Mincey today.

It was only a matter of time. Any time a new coaching staff NEVER mentions a players name, you already know what time it is. From the offseason, they never really said much about Mincey, so I seen it coming especially after him violating team rules recently. I wonder what other moves they will make in the offseason. I dont see them releasing Lewis, they actually like him and want him here. I only see lewis being ditched if he becomes a cap causuality in the future.

I just want to say how proud if the home team I am, going from one of if not the worse to being in the hunt for a playoff spot is quite an accomplishment. Shows that a team that grows properly under the proper guidance will succeed, we just had to hang around long enough for it to mature.

Definately agreed. I think this team is going to be a lot more competitve, alot sooner than people think. If theyve done this with our current roster, I can only imagine what they will be able to do once we have some more talent. Weve gotten everyones attention, even the talking heads of sports media that was just trashing us a few months ago. And we have the greatest fan base. Through it all, we sat right and supported them, even when we were pissed LOL I will be at the game today with bells for alumni weekend. Its gonna emotional for so many of the players from our first team being at the game today. Gonna be a great day at the bank

D played great, had turnovers, but our rookies coughed up the ball and really hurt our team. Young team, and it showed today. Beat Tennessee at home!

Gotta work on D-rob ball security

Tough fumble by Robinson. That was a tough one to watch. The stadium was about to explode. I give Bradley and the coaches credit for a close game. Look at some of the guys out there. Jordan Todman, Kerry Taylor, Clay Harbor, Winston Guy. Those are waiver wire pickups playing major minutes.

I don't like Chris Prosinski, he ran right by Manuel in the 1st half. Instead of a 10 yard sack, Manuel had a 15 yard gain. He let's INTs through his hands, and he's the best backup we have. Cyprien was out in the secondary, had Cyp been there, we have a different results back there. Better players at first team, but we still lack a lot of depth. Alu Alu may be out there playing, but he is not the same force as Stroud was, who was introduced on the field during the game. When was the last time Alu Alu blew up a play that was remarkable?

So does anyone think that was actually a fumble from Mike Brown at the end of the first half?  I don't see how he even had the opportunity to secure the ball and make a "football move."

^ Brown did not catch the ball at least from inside the stadium, but he was 1 on 1 with the DB, he is still young and without Shorts, it was a tough day for our WRs.
