It's possible but most likely they'll win at least one sooner or later.

For the first time ever, I have a hard time believing that. When you have an offense that cant even score, you have a serious problem. Even with the few big plays here and there giving up by the defense, they are by far not the issue. They are on the field for the entire game, pretty much trying to prevent the team from getting blowed out too bad. For a young defense, especially the secondary, I think theyve done an okay job. I just want to see how they play when they actually have a change to REST. Not sure if anyone else noticed, but at the beginning of every game the defense is on fire, by the games end they look like they are about to pass out.

Including the preseason, we have scored 8 total points in our first three home games with Blaine Gabbert as QB.

8 points.

No touchdowns.

Over three games.

How much longer do you think this can realistically continue before the plug gets pulled on the BG experiment?

funwithteeth

They'll pull the plug once they've safely secured the #1 pick for next year.

Oh, for all intents and purposes, they've secured that pick. Btw, Henne isn't any better. There was a reason Miami decided to start over and let him go.

Our defense is on the field more than the referees. Unless Scobee can kick 5 +50 yarders, the game is over when the other team reach 14 points. We should get the #1 pick for sure, although Tampa is a serious threat.

funwithteeth

Tampa came close to beating both the Jets and the Saints, and that was with Josh Freeman still playing. They'll blunder their way into a couple of wins. The Jags, at this rate, are a legit 0-16 team.

Speaking of Freeman... thoughts on a free agent pick up if Tampa cuts him?

I'd rather see someone like Vince Young—who didn't look completely terrible with Green Bay in the preseason—get some play if the Jags wanna ride out the season with someone other than Gabbert/Henne.

Keith-N-Jax

None, there's enough mediocre QBs on this roster already.

Well the general consenus when the season started, even by national media, is that they are giving him the opoprtunity to prove that he is, or isnt the guy. Plugging in Henne things will look better, but I doubt we win anymore with him than Gabbert. We just got screwed having the second pick draft and there were no must have QB's were in the draft. It made since to stick with what we had and built other spots. You can rest assured the draft with be VERY offense heavy, including drafting a QB. I think we should spent the majority of our picks on the offense and the rest building depth on the defense. The only position on defense that I feel is a top need is the pass rush and I think that the only defensive position that should be addressed in the first two rounds.

Didnt Freeman have a Pro bowl year a few back?  I agree about having too many... pick one up... cut another.

Freeman's been crappy lately, though.

And my post up above re: Young was purely hyptohetical. I don't see why the Jags would want to pick up anyone unless they thought it'd be a marked improvement over what's currently on the field.

I agree. If they player is not a slam dunk and is guaranteed to make us better, than don't even bother.

I believe the "crappiness" began about the same time the psychotic coach showed up...
