I must say they look like a team tonight.. Made a lot of mistaken, but overcame them. I like that. Cyprien is too damn aggressive and I knew him getting flagged was gonna be a problem. Once he understand the NFL and get his techniques down he will be okay. Also nice to see blackmon come in and play well.

Sadly this is a game of 2 halves. As we saw last season, we may be leading at halftime only to come out and lay down for the opponent. This team lacks the killer instinct. Maybe it is youth or the way the wind blows, but they need to keep their foot on the throat of the opponent for 60 minutes on the field!

1 sack in the game tonight, Jets QBs had waaaaaaaay too much time. The DBs, they are young, cut them some slack, is Alu Alu playing yet? He has been verrrrrry quiet thus far. Nice to see Mojo back. Robinson is going to be fantastic on the field, no matter where they put him. 3 turnovers, 11 penalties, it is pre-season, for sure. More fake football next week, too!

I guess we can all see what we want to see.  I get it, you were trying to watch a football game and you weren't real happy with the outcome.  Sure.

I saw an OC trying to figure out what he has in #11 for a quarter and then turning the same offense over to #7 and getting completely different results.  Did you happen to notice how well Blaine ran an uptempo offense that seemed to run an inordinate amount of naked boots and WR Screens with the occasional shot down the field.  He looked really good - and he had the numbers to back it up.

Did you see Henne run the same O?  I did, and maybe it was the D finally picking up on our plan or maybe he's just not that good, but the same plays that were working for Gabbert weren't working for Henne.  That's my guess why they came back from halftime and started playing out of the huddle.

Our D finally got going towards the end of the 1st half.  We may not have had sacks, but we kept Sanchez on the run and, for the most part, had the WRs covered on the back end.  The score that you saw was the Jets leaving Sanchez out on the field to compete against our 2s, 3s and 4s.  Would you have like to see the backups play better?  Sure, but they're not starters for a reason.

Overall, I was happy to see what I saw.  Cyprien will calm down, remember, this is his first action on the field.  Trufant is old, but seems to always be around the ball.  Nice pick in the 2nd.  I feel really good about the Robinson / Sanders picks.  Why do we even have another punter on the team?  The line did a decent job and didn't have Joeckel.  Geno Hayes stepped up last night and made a few plays.  Blackmon looked really good and it's going to suck not having him eligible for the first 4 games.

I agree buddy. Especially with the part about the score. I was like of course sanchez is going to look sharp throwing against second and third team defenses. And we should NEVER read too much into a preseason because there are to many variables going on at one time. Literally half these guys will not even make the team. I was also very happy to see Gabbert do so well. To be honest, that is the most comfortable Ive seen him in any game, preseason or regular season. Not to mention the offense overcame three penalties and still kept the drive alive. The defense even recovered well from their mistakes, and in my eyes that showed progress. This upcoming season will be rough, but Im confident it will be fun to watch.

P.S. dont watch the games highlights, because they only highlight Sanchez and didnt even show any of gabbert performance. It was the most bias and upsetting shit I'd seen in a long time, The entire highlight was about Sanchez.

Off of Jaguars.com this morning: Things we Learned Last Night

2. Gabbert may be OK after all. Yes, it was just preseason, but fair's fair - and Gabbert played maybe his best stretch of his Jaguars career. He looked, frankly, like a different player than he has in the past. He was decisive, accurate and poised throughout his first two drives. The Jaguars drove for two scores on those two drives and Gabbert was 10 of 12 for 133 yards.

3. Justin Blackmon matters. He matters in this offense. A lot. Blackmon caught four passes for 46 yards, and when he was in the game, he made things much easier for Gabbert. He turned two short passes into first-down producing plays, and his ability to run after the catch gives the Jaguars an element it lacks when he and Cecil Shorts III aren't playing.

5. The pass rush is still a work in progress. This was a strong area in the preseason opener, but it was in no way a finished product. That was clear Saturday, when the Jaguars struggled to get pressure on Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. That wasn't shocking. The team is still looking for a player they can rely upon to provide pressure opposite Jason Babin, and the preseason will be spent continuing that process.

6. Maurice Jones-Drew is in pretty good shape . . . The three-time Pro Bowl running back hadn't played yet this preseason, having missed the first preseason game while the team was being cautious with his conditioning. He has appeared fully recovered throughout training camp from the sprained foot that cost him the last 10 games of last season, and on Saturday, he looked pretty close to regular-season shape. The Jaguars wanted him to play about 8-to-10 plays. He played seven, and touched the ball four times. That was a good start, and it was all the eighth-year veteran needed.

7. . . . and yes, Jones-Drew matters in the offense. Jones-Drew turned a short pass into a 20-yard gain on the first series, and when he did, you remembered why he was one of the best running backs in the NFL. His presence will make the Jaguars' offense better, and if the line continues to block well, a running game that struggled last season could be effective again.

9. Johnathan Cyprien was ready. OK, maybe the rookie safety was a little too ready. He committed a couple of penalties early and appeared to misplay a tackle on a long early run. But the second-round selection will be fine. His aggressiveness is something the Jaguars like, and with repetitions he should improve quickly.

12. Progress was made. People will remember the score, and 37-13 is far from ideal. But a closer look will reveal that the Jaguars were ahead, 13-10, at halftime, and that was improvement from Week 1. This was a tight game until second-half mistakes, and some of those mistakes came from players who won't be starting or on the team. The mistakes must be reduced, but the Jaguars may have found the beginnings of what they'll be offensively on Saturday. They'll take that.

Now that I got that rant outta the way....The Jags 'O' looked great with Gabbert in there. I always thought that Henne's 'supposed good game' last week was so overblown; Hell, Kafka was more close to throwing a TD in that first game than Henne. Does anyone still think that Henne should start over Gabbert now? LOL. Hopefully Gabbert will be okay with that thumb injury. Cyprien will be fine, I rather for him to be a lil' overaggressive early on, than scorched for a TD. The pressure on the QB was inconsistent, and the run defense was disappointing. Might as well say bye bye to that fumble-plagued punt returner. I hated it when the Jags tried to get greedy calling a timeout before the end of the half, in an attempt to get to ball back with little time; That crap almost backfired on us. I hate it when teams do that overaggressive crap, more than not it will backfire on you.
