I don't get the water feature (pools) yet - the renderings make it look as if we're installing Baptismals....

You can beg for a Tebow joke here all you want, but I refuse to comply.

Boy I hope we can pull it together this season bc the silly little mistakes will look so much worse that big

You would think in a made up rendering of the nifty $63Million dollar fix up, the Jags could pretend they are beating the colts by more than a touchdown. ;-)

^ ;) One would think, after all they do seem to be our biggest rivalry.

LoL, we promise to protect you from the Tebow Worshippers!

Actually, in all seriousness I do like this news.  I am not so sure what we were presented with is what we'll end up seeing as I'm sure the Health Department will have a field day trying to figure all that is needed to keep pools clean.  And I don't even want to think of insurance liabilities especially with access to alcohol.

But what the mustachioed genius businessman managed to do was stop dead in its tracks any talk of Jags moving away anytime soon, though the true fans already knew this now we don't have to listen to the peanut gallery.  He also managed to create a lot of Jaguar buzz in the media for the next few weeks which is great free publicity for the Jags, Jacksonville and him.  This is something I never saw from Wayne Weaver, and because of this regardless of how the Jags play this season I think in the minds of the football fans across the nation we would be ranked in top 20.  I imagine them saying "well, there' must be something down there if this man is giving that much money".  Good job, Khan good job.

P.S. Does anyone else think Brown feels putout because it isn't his picture on the big screen?

One thing is certain - there hasn't been much downtime during his tenure thus far.  Just when there seems to be a lull in Jag-worthy news, he gets back in the headlines.

Everything about this franchise seems fresh - I'm almost getting the 1993 feeling all over again....

P.S.

A few other details:

7,000 seats are being removed to make way for "a new platform area in the north end zone with pools, unique food and beverage offerings and interactive activities. Temporary seating can be installed for major events that require a larger stadium capacity, such as the Florida-Georgia football game.

The Jaguars will fund 75 percent of the estimated $26.5 million -- just under $20 million -- for the new video scoreboards with the city of Jacksonville funding the remaining 25 percent. The city also will fund the total estimated $36.4 million to build the north end zone fan engagement area as well as the necessary infrastructure and control room to support the video scoreboards.

so basically the scoreboards are longer than the field itself...ridiculous!

Actually I think it'll look nice, from someone aho has never missed a home game since the 2002 season I can see the benefit. No matter where you're seated you'll be able to get good, clear view and really if they have the money than why not?  It is something that'll make us stand out.  Yes, bigger than the playing field by a whole six inches on each end.  I have been in people's houses where the tv takes an entire wall of the room, to me that is ridiculous.

The scoreboards will look fine. I think they will actually round the stadium out. Presently, the current score boards are entirely too little for a stadium that massive. Envisioning the scoreboard wrapping around the stadium seems fitting. I am also not worried about how the finished product will look. If the city of Jacksonville was managing it, I would be terrified. However, the team is managing the project. Khan believes in things be top notch, so I suspect to see exactly what is rendered.

So that's where all the money need to keep street lights on went to. I'll remember this the next time someone on the city council cries that property taxes need to be raised to support city services.

I'm pretty sure that the $ for this comes entirely from a bed tax that is earmarked for stadium improvements.

It's not a "keep libraries open or build amenities for the Jaguars" choice the city is making.

RE: pools

I don't know whether or not the Marlins' stadium has them, but the Arizona Diamondbacks' stadium has had them for years.  I think the Padres also?
