Just read our incentive bill cleared a second panel. Looks like its sailing through. We havent asked for anything from the state since the construction of the stadium, which is almost 20 years ago. I think it would not be right to give us a little help on what we are trying to.

I hated that last dumb question which basically is saying that is London ready for a team, and where do to Jags fall in the situation; Of course, the effing obligatory national media relocating question... Then Khan gonna talk about maybe some five or tens years down the road for London; Stuff like that is what gives people here that 'movaphobia' as he call it. He needs to be very CLEAR that he has no intentions of moving this team, so they can finally stop asking those stupid-ass 'moving' questions. I don't think that we are gonna move, don't get me wrong, but fans would feel better without these 'uncertainty' type responses.

EDIT: Knowing the trifling national media, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the article was edited in that deceiving fashion, leaving things out, so I'm give Khan the benefit of the doubt on that one.

He has been nothing but very clear about the situation and the questions and fear still keep coming.  There is literally nothing more he could say to ease anyone's fear of moving.

The new front office has been so transparent and available on all their decisions.  I love it.

He answered the London question in a straightforward answer.  If you notice, he didn't even answer the "where do the jags fit into that" portion.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

I was in Charlotte this past week, and their big sports story is that the team might move to LA.  The Panthers do not have a long term lease with the city and they want the city to pay for stadium updgrades ( escalaters, scoreboard, more suites, etc) and the city is not doing it so far. So, it is not just us, FYI.

I didnt see a problem with his response. I prefer he doesnt acknowledge their ignorant questions anymore. Whats the point? He's already made it clear that he's committed to Jax and showing it. He has nothing to prove to anyone. It is time for us to move on as a franchise.

FYI-The beginning of the article does state that it was edited for clarity. So things were omitted.

I thought they got everything approved? I guess not. I am shocked that they have done NOTHING to that stadium. We got our stadiums at the same time, and weve already renovated our twice and have made millions in upgrades. Why did they sit on their hands for so long? It was also stated that the public is outraged because they heard bout how much revenue the team and the owner has just laying around. I heard they are stacked financially.

The State of NC has also turned down funding for the stadium if I remember correctly.

Thanks for pointing that out; That thankfully pretty much quenched out my pseudo-fear mongering post above LOL. I should have initially known never to trust the misleading Nat'l media with any info. You, and Bridges are right, I was trippin'.

Not to mention its a privately owned stadium and they asking for public money to renovate it. Thats like me asking money for the state to remodel my house.

Normally, these guys just live in houses built and owned by the state, with the state covering their taxes and paying for renovations. Then they charge fans to take a tour of the place, and makes lots of profit. Its good work if you can get it.

I wonder if losing their football team will send all those fortune 500 companies packing and coming to Jacksonville. If they continue to pull away from us even without the team, that may provide some evidence for the true benefits of hosting a team.

Thing is Charolette was already booming and on the uptick when they got a team.

Of course, turn it directly into a Jacksonville vs Charlotte issue....

Doesn't seem too unreasonable to compare similar cities with football teams in similar situations, or at least under similar recent scrutiny. That and this is a Jacksonville thread on a Jacksonville forum where we are already actively discussing comparisons to Charlotte, so I don't see this as stretching.

fsujax

The Jax vs Charlotte thing goes back to the birth of the Panthers and Jags. Anyone remember the hate Charlotte was putting on us at the time? It is actually kind of funny looking back at it now.

I-10east

Well PJE, many like to talk about metro population all of the time, and Charlotte has about a million more people, so maybe they are not so similar; Which will of course bring up the past arguments "Charlotte has been running it's city like we should have been ten to fifteen years ago blah, blah, blah" Well I chose to live in the present into the future, and not in the past, and Jax's future will be just fine IMO.
