I gotta give the guys some credit today though. But as usual, we found a way to lose. Fumbles, penalties... That's the one thing we're very good at.

Green Bay had fumbles and penlaties also.

In that newspiece about Khan, he was thrown in a brig for about six hours on the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit. I guess that makes Detroit a racist city that isn't diverse. As a black man, I lived here in Jax for 26 years, and had one incident with a racist cop that's it, pretty good odds. IMO the most racist area around this region is further down south in the Starke area. Alot of parts of South Georgia is really racist too.

I'm willing to bet that any city in the south (and even some outside of that region) would have had a similar reaction that Jacksonville had when knowing Khan was the owner of their local team. Some of yall will take my bluntness the wrong way as usual, and I'm not trying to stick up for racist ignorance, but nobody knew anything about Khan at first, and although the country where he's from is supposedly an US ally, Pakistan do not act like one; This is the same country that harbored Osama Bin Laden. Hell, at first no one even knew how long he lived in America. As people got familiar with Khan, many of the racist comments ceased, and people began to accept Khan here. I know for FACT that many of those racist comments on the internet were from all over the world, and Jacksonville took the blame for it.

Can anyone name a person in Jax of PROMINENCE that said a racist comment about Shad? IMO it's really petty to take a comments from some damn anonymous keyboard typing racists seriously; That's the kinda stuff that most youtube video makers can take. If it happened in someplace like NY or ATL it wouldn't be a story, or maybe they would portray it as "American intolerance" but it was isolated to Jax, so we are without doubt the most racist f*cking city in the world.... SMH.

I-10, didnt I say this was for another thread?  ;D But seriously, I did state in my post that the comments came for other places/people as well. At the end of the though, we cant what people think or say about us. Thats why I usually stir away from the "everybodys down on Jax" conversations. All we sit here and do is get flustered and upset ourselves, while the people that made the comments go about their lives.

^^^I sorry I just don't like the way Jax were portrayed on the 60 Minutes newspiece. I'm not distraught because of that story by no means, but that doesn't mean that I have to like seeing my city being portrayed like that. I never understood why alot of people on MJ are basically "anti-showing pride in Jax" or atleast it seems so. On the CBS comment section, many people have the same take as mine.

I am about to stir the pot with this post, but it should be fun. I saw this article in the LA Times earlier today. I saw another article very similar to this one over the weekend as well. It seems the Tebow saga with Jax continues. Discuss. haha

would you please stop making these inane insinuations?

MJ is not anti town center, nor are there people who are anti showing pride in Jax.

In fact MJ probably has more  pride in Jacksonville than any other publication in the region, so please stop projecting.

Tebow?  It's not like his presence has turned around the Jets.  What makes anyone believe he would be a miracle worker for the Jags?

Even his punt protection magic failed yesterday.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

If we had any significant TALENT, we could have won this one. Also, when will the coaching staff/players learn....if you want a first down, throw PAST the sticks.

Ya think?

Gabbert was good competent though. 27/49 300+yds and a TD. He was better than those stats if you ask me. If we get that production regularly, the wins will come.

Also, I liked passing on first down. So sick of seeing a run up the middle every friggin' time...

Gabbert was pretty good yesterday. I don't know if they had a total, but there were at least 9 or 10 drops. Not to mention Blackmon stepping out on that sideline catch. He has to know where his feet are on that play. Blackmon continues to be a huge disappointment to me. He looks lazy as hell on most plays. I noticed it a few weeks ago during the Chicago game. He is jogging on routes where he isn't the primary target. And it was obvious on a few plays yesterday that he ran the wrong route. I was glad to see Dierdorf and Gumbel point that out during the broadcast.

Tacachale

I was pretty pleased with how we played yesterday. We were pretty sharp despite our flaws against a really good team. And I also thought the Khan piece was nice - especially his description of his buying the Jaguars as kismet.

And I-10, I know you don't intend it, but when you keep reacting like this you come across as defensive and whiny and you end up drawing even more attention to the thing you're complaining about.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Blackmon looks lost, like Shorts did last year. But hes actually doing much better than shorts did his rookie season ( and he better being that we traded up for him).I knew he was going to stuggle so Im not shocked. I think its more confusion than it is laziness.

Ocklawaha

The 60 minutes piece did start off by dropping the racist bomb on Jacksonville, but went on to show a city with "Khanmania."  The scenes of Khan just outside the stadium being a 'bigger attraction then what is inside' with hundreds of fans with "Khanstashes," wanting their photo taken with him was poignant. It was pretty clear that he is now one of the 'most loved' owners in the league.

Stephen, I-10 East is being his typical preposterous self, showering criticism on those struggling to build a greater Jacksonville.  Importing ideas, and evaluating our progress with a detailed and analytical comparison of our peers, simply overloads his sensorial perceptions. ;)

I didn't say all of MJ, I said ALOT, so you're putting words in my mouth. I can't tell you how many times when a valid argument is made defending Jax (just like the 60 Minutes Khan interview topic) and someone on here will say the typical "You're just a homer" or "Quit drinking the kool-aid" or "You're too sensitive defending Jax". I wouldn't have that 'insinuation' if I didn't witness it many times as I have. BTW, to say that MANY on MJ is for fact anti-SJTC is an understatement.

The difference is Shorts was a third day pick. Blackmon was a top five pick. It just seems like to me that Shorts was probably adjusting to the speed of the NFL. Something he has clearly done in his second year. Where as I think Blackmon seems to show an absolute lack of effort out there. Yesterday was a prime example. My guess is Blackmon has never really had to "try" in football at any point in his life. He was always the best out there even as half-speed. But the NFL is a different animal and he looks lazy out there. Hopefully a light switch comes on for him.

When so much effort is used to rip a city to shreds like on 60 minutes, the same effort is needed to defend it, so I will not take a passive attitude on serious issues like that, and yes portraying an entire city as racist is a serious issue. That's the way I'm wired, what can I say, call me whiny or whatever.

That exactly what I just said (lol). I will give him this much, regardless of how high he was drafted, college and the NFL are two different animals. Historically, the marjority of NFL receiver sstruggle their rookie year, regardless of where they are drafted. There are VERY few AJ Greens out there. Blackmon, to me, just seems out of place and lost. Even if he would have ran full speed in attempt to get that ball, he would have still missed it because he was out of place, COMPLETELY. Acutally, what we are seeing now were the same concerns brought up by analyst leading up the draft. So Im not shocked. Now if you wanna see lazy, just look at Mike Thomas  ;D
