It grates having to read the same false nonsense again and again, but overall I thought the article was pretty good. It specifically mentioned the stadium size issue and the fact that the Jags have been awful for many years as the primary reason for the lack of interest. The tone is optimistic and once again, Shad comes out hitting all the right notes about promoting the city as well as the team.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Yeah I cant agree with an article being well written when the take unecessary childish Jabs at our city and fan base. Sorry cant do it. If you really look at it, the article was more so talking about Khan and what hes trying to with the franchise. Other than, it completely made Jacksonville and Jags fan look like a complete idiot...as usual.

2005 was one of three winning seasons we've had in twelve years. The point is that measurably fewer people show up to watch a perpetually mediocre team; that doesn't mean the fanbase is weak.

We have to be the fanbase with the thinest skin.

I'm so sick of people saying that! How do we supposed to act like? Well Stephen A Smith is right, our stadium is only half full.... If the national sports media says erroneous stupid shit, or diss the city don't expect for us Jag fans to act calm and cordial. You might not be a Jags fan and that's okay, but when it comes to defending my team and city, that's what I'm gonna do. It's us Jag fans against the world, downplay that if you want; If you don't believe me, take a look at one PFT Jag post; LA, London, 0-16, and doom and gloom are common themes. I don't see how any Jag fan in their right mind can side with the national media.

They say that Blackmon has a hamstring injury, although the Jags aren't showing much concern about his availability for the game. I saw a recent news piece on FNC when Blackmon was out there in an Eastside park (I forgot the name of it) over there by Centennial Townhouses East running routes with the kids which was concerning for me since week one is very soon;  I hope it's no correlation with that and his injury.

Let's hope Mularkey has a streak of Belichick in him.  I don't think in the 10 years he's played that Brady hasn't been on the injury list with a shoulder or a neck or an ankle or something...

Glass half full.

BTW, thanks to everyone, but I think our Jags thread has the highest page count on the site!  Who cares about politics...   :P

Yea, New England version of Belichick, not the Cleveland version.

I'll even take the cheating, New England version as long as he brings championships and doesn't get caught.   ;D

Every I read it said an ankle injury, including Jaguars.com. Where'd you read it was a hammy? He didnt get carted off, or need help getting of the field. ( as will rackely and austen lane did) They just limited his reps after that as a precaution. So if he was able to still practice afterwards, I dont see a reason for panic. At the most, they will be probably limit him in practice the rest of the week to be on the safe side.

It wasn’t a good day for ankle injuries for the Jaguars at their Wednesday practice as they began focusing on the season opener Sunday in Minnesota.

Guard Uche Nwaneri hasn’t fully recovered from his ankle injury that he suffered last Thursday night against Atlanta and was limited in practice while wide receiver Justin Blackmon suffered an ankle injury in practice so he had to be listed as limited because he didn’t take all the reps.

The Jaguars hope Blackmon’s injury isn’t serious, but will have to wait to see if there is any swelling Thursday to determine if he can resume practicing. Blackmon suffered the injury after the 30-minute media viewing period ended.

When Nwaneri went out, Josh Beekman took his place at right guard during the media viewing time although coach Mike Mularkey said if he can’t go, they could move tackle Cameron Bradfield from tackle to guard and play Guy Whimper at right tackle. Rookie Mike Brewster can also play guard.

Mularkey said before the practice he hopes Nwaneri can play but they have a Plan B if he can’t play.

He said Beekman, Bradfield, Whimper and Brewster all could be plan B.

Cornerback Derek Cox was limited in practice Wednesday with his hamstring injury but Kevin Rutland, not William Middleton, replaced him during the media viewing time. Middleton has been playing in place of Cox.

Another cornerback, rookie Mike Harris, was also limited with a hamstring injury.

The Jaguars were down to two healthy defensive ends, Jeremy Mincey and rookie Andre Branch, because Aaron Morgan wasn’t on the field. But his absence was listed as not injury related so he probably was dealing with a personal issue.

Two defensive ends, Austen Lane (foot) and George Selvie (knee) remained sidelined. Lane was on the field and Selvie wasn’t.

Mularkey said the defensive tackles will rotate as the fourth end.

“We will rotate from inside out. The defensive tackles that are up will rotate in the mix with the defensive ends in no particular order,’’ he said.

The only other player who didn’t practice was veteran center Brad Meester. He was listed as not injury related so he got a veteran day off. Brewster played in his place.

I compared JAguar fans to a kid that got bullied in school.  They eventually get tired of it and start fighting back. And they are usually really sensitive.

Dammit I-10, I'm gonna have to slap some man in your ass.  (remove all homo pretense)

Dammit DD08, you need to use the right analogy.

We're not like the bullied kid - most of those kids deserved it.

We're more like the perceived poor family that moves into a Julington Creek suburb.  We drive practical vehicles.  Our kids go to public school, dressed in Target.  Both parents work.  But damn if we aren't kings of our own castle - fuck the world around us.  They can show, but we know.  Keep talking shit about what you see, because if you bothered to get to know us, you'd know that not only are we doing better than you internally, but we've positioned ourselves so that we won't suffer if we don't get next year's left overs (FA's), we'll live with what we've gotten that still really usable, and we'll keep stashing cash in a hole ($25M) to use next year on a rainy day when we need it.

Keep flashing.  Keep talking shit.  We'll smile and acknowledge you, but we already know that we're better prepared for the future than you'll ever be.
