If you want the good shirts you have to plan ahead...

But.... since he won't be playing, I might not be wearing this one.

NRW - any chance you might have a link to where I can pick up one of these sweet tee's?!

Awesome! Thanks!

A few thoughts an Im calling it a night:

Offense

Gabbert looked great. The O-line also did their part. The first team offense moved the ball with no problems, just couldn't stop turning it over. Jennings was great. Anyone that thought we could not win without Mojo, Im sure they have their foot in their mouth.

Special Teams

Two words: BRYAN ANGER. Enough said. He out that ball where it belonged and caused the Giants to muff the punt TWICE. Wont hear me complaining about him that's for sure.

Defense:

First team defense looked a little weak against the run. But I had to remember that Daryl Smith was out and Pot Roast played with the second team defense. Alualu did not play also, so that explains it. If Alualu and Pot Roast was upfront, we would not have seen that.  I'm not to worried about them. However TOO MANY DAMN PENALTIES!! Lots of sacks. Good to see D'anthony Smith get one.

The Refs:

Hi-fucking-larious!!! That was the worst shit I even seen in my life. When they stop the game and to get the flag off the field, I was done!! That was terriable. And at the end of the game, with 2 seconds on the clock , it took them ALL DAMN NIGHT to figure where the giants should line up because of their penalty.

Crowds are solid in Jacksonville, sparse in Miami

So I’m watching four preseason games at the same damn time via NFL.com’s Preseason Live package, and it’s hard not to notice the contrast between the crowds in Jacksonville and Miami.

The Jaguars have nearly a full house against the Giants, with some patches of blue in the upper deck.  Unless these seats belong to season-ticket holders who opted not to show up, it means that unsold non-premium tickets were purchased by the team at 34 cents on the dollar to lift the local blackout.

In Miami, the check needed to lift the local blackout would have had more than a few zeroes.  The crowd at Sun Life Stadium for the Bucs-Fins game looks sparse.

“Sparse” actually is kind.  There’s hardly anyone there.

UPDATE 8:10 p.m. ET:  Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene says that the game wasn’t blacked out locally.  Which means that owner Stephen Ross bought the excess at 34 cents on the dollar.

DD - My take, and I watched most of it, after the first half in the west clubs, lots of political candidates were in the Club, so I was enjoying the manure being spread around!

Offense - I thought our season was in the toilet after watching Gabbert's first pass attempt, when he was rushed and threw that pass to Lewis, then he settled down and that drive was amazing, he looked like the potential QB we drafted last year. One drive for sure, but it was a nice balance of Run and Pass, and when the run was working, the O-Coordinator just kept giving Jennings the ball, which was nice. I am so glad to have Jennings back!!!! The turnovers made me sick, but it is preseason, and those will kill us in the regular season.

Defense - Looked OK, but against Manning, there was no real rush, no one on the D-Line really stood out as providing pressure to sack Manning, who looked very clean in his white jersey for the first half, which is disappointing. Need a better rush against first team Offenses.

New Uniforms look nice, I guess. Anger is a HUGE dude, put Scobee next to him and Josh looks up into the trees to see Anger.

By the way, the Gate Gas program has officially started, did so yesterday, so take your Jags card there to get your $2 in Jag Dollars to be used in the stadium.

Kudos to Tom Coughlin and his Jay Fund, to date, it has given $4 million to families with a member inflicted with Cancer. Without the NFL, what would these families have done? Another jab to those who say we would be better off without the NFL in Jacksonville!

Has anyone seen attendance numbers? Got home from work at the start of the 2nd quarter and the stadium looked pretty full to me.

Times Union said the attendance was 62,474. Lots of empty seats though, including the covered ones, maybe everyone was in the Bud Zone???

I could be considered on of those.

Quick Hits:

I can't say I was happy to see that chuck-n-duck to Robinson on that long post route.  But he stood in other times and delivered.

Did you see the hands on Cecil Shorts?  Wow!  Impressive.

Did you see Cecil Shorts repeatedly fumble the ball.  Wow!  Expected.

Derek Cox, stay healthy.  Seeing him pull up on that play made me cringe.   Luckily it was only a strained calf.

Andre Branch needs to be more consistent.  He didn't get a sack, but I saw him miss 3-4 by a gnat's ass.

On 2 plays, he drove the lineman backwards into Manning just after the throw - Beast.

3rd Round pick is getting a little love today.  70+yds & 5.4 sec. in the air and the coverage team still lets the guy out and around the left - not on the punter.  The gunners need to start running longer sprints - they're winded by the time they get to the ball.

Brian Robiski.  Son of a WR Coach.  3rd Season in the league.  Was projected as possibly our 2nd round pick that year.  Could it be his coming out?

Stealing from Wacca - Do you think the Raiders would give us a couple of 1st round picks for Palmer after last night?

Mike Thomas looks like he's been hitting the weights or he ate some bad seafood before the game.  He was all puffed up.

Can't think of his name, but our DE on the right side, playing on 3rd string needs to get a look with the 1s or 2s - so freaking fast off the ball - even if he's only in on passing plays, he was unreal.

I created a button on my phone's home screen that I push anytime a ref turns on his mic that starts blaring out the Benny Hill theme.  Now....  if I could just get hooked up via the stadiums blue-tooth and patch it through the rest of the speakers.

Cheerleaders = Classic Dallas hot without the headgear.

Speakers = Awesome - I walked around the stadium, and the sound quality was great everywhere.  No longer a reverb at the NE/NW endzone.

We really need to get on board with the J-A-G-U-A-R-S during the kickoffs.

For those interested, I have devised a plan.  I am putting my food stuff in vacuum sealed bags.  Placing the sealed bags of food inside the ziplock bag.  Filling the ziplock back with Vodka - it just looks like food in a bag.  Genius!

I think the attendance figures were right. one thing about it, you can scew those numbers. They scan your tickets at the gate, so thats where they get the information from. But there were definately people on top of people in the bud zone. I think that accounts for alot of empty seats during the regular season as well.

NRW-I wouldnt worry about cecil. Jerry Sullivan is going to lay into his ass, if he already hasnt. The improved play from the receivers was outstanding. Sullivan does not play with them at all. I also read that if they drop the ball in practice, they have to run laps. The overall coaching and team effort was refreshing. I am so glad Del Rio is gone. Mularkey is very smart with the players. He held Blackmon and Mathis and Alualu. Del Rio would have thrown them into fire. without thinking.

Hey has anyone noticed the Welcome to Jacksonville billboard on I-10? It has a picture of Jaxson Deville on one side and a military photo ( I think military) on the otherside and in the middle it says " Welcome to Jacksonville, home of Winn-Dixie" Sounds like some type of collaborative marketing effort. Anyone seen them anywhere else around town?

lol that's kinda sad that Winn-Dixie is what we have to use for marketing for welcoming people to Jacksonville. Majority of people in Jax I would venture to say don't even use WD as their go to choice for grocery shopping, though I do appreciate the Fuel Perks thing. Ok... well that's way off topic. Was the sign way out on the Chaffee end of I-10?
