Duval dude.. :)   DUDE !!   nearly always we agree.

I think in this instance , Tebow will not be a bad gamble .  I think Manning , given his injury history could be the gamble here.. but that is not our problem.

I think Tebow  would be an asset to the Jaguars.  I don't know that he will ever be a star QB but he does have some know-how to the game .  I think in this instance,  we need to take that gamble .

I give this a day. Again, I'm betting we get him.

I second that bet. I think it is likely :)

He is not a good QB Timkin.. Hes at the bottom with Gabbert.... How would that benefit us besides getting attention from the media? I will say. you never know what may happen. But then again, is it REALLY worth it?

I did say previous that Im open it, as long as we dont give up too much for him. A fifth round pick for him to be a 3rd QB on our roster, and lure in some new fans I feel is a good deal. Now a clamer for him to start, thats a whole different subject.

Here it is folks. Khan ended trade negiations tonight because Tebow preferred playing time over returning to his hometown. It looks like we tried to get him, but was not going to let him start (thank God). Looks like Khan has sense after all. As I said all along, we would try to get him, but he wasnt gonna be a starter. We will see what unfolds.

Tebow to Jacksonville?
ORLANDO, Fla. -
Tim Tebow, whose stardom rose to national levels this past season as he led the Denver Broncos to nine wins and a playoff defeat of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to be traded to either the Jacksonville Jaguars or the New York Jets by midday on Wednesday, a source close to Tebow told Channel 4's sister station, WKMG in Orlando.

Tebow, who lost his starting job this week when the Broncos signed Peyton Manning, is expected to be dealt for a third-round pick. Several national reports have the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers in the running for Tebow, but the source informed WKMG on Tuesday night that the trade talks were exclusively down to the Jets or Jaguars. One of those teams could end up with the standout quarterback by Wednesday.

Tebow starred collegiately at the University of Florida and hails from Jacksonville, but the source said that the left-handed quarterback prefers playing time over a return to his hometown. Jaguars' new owner Shahid Khan ended trade negotiations with Tebow's representatives and the Broncos late Tuesday night, but those talks are expected to resume Wednesday morning.

"He's totally willing to go to whatever place will give him the best situation as far as playing next season,'' said the source, who requested anonymity.

Tebow has spent the offseason in Los Angeles while working on shortening and quickening his throwing motion with UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone. Tebow completed just 46.5 percent of his passes last season. He threw for 1,729 yards while tossing 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!

LOLOLOL My sentiments exactly. Hes nothing more than a back up and Im glad Khan realizes that. However, lets not get to excited. The NFL is a very tricky Machine. We could wake in the morning to " Tebow will start in Jax. Gabbert traded, Henne cut and Leftwich resigned." LMAO

I think you may be reading a little too much into the article.

I think this article is just saying that Khan ended trade negotiations for the evening, not ended overall trade negotiations. Talks are expected to resume this morning. Nowhere in the article does it say that Khan ended negotations for the evening because Tebow preferred playing time over location.

KenFSU, Tim is NOT going to go to a team to become a starting QB and have a season like last year. The Broncos were in a VERY weak division last year. Generally you don't go 8-8 and WIN a division, especially not in the AFC South. Had they not won the division they would not have even been in the playoffs. Then they went on to beat a beat up Pittsburg team that played themselves because they overplayed the run all game. Reality set in when the Pats blew out the Broncos. More often than not Tebow would experience games like what the Pats put on him. 9 for 26 and 140 something yards passing.

And all the media outlets are saying Tebow is going to Jax because of ticket sales and the fact they harp on the false stereotype that we don't sell out our games and the dumb idea that we are going to take the tarps off. It's not because they feel Tebow will come here and be a great quarterback and succeed.

We don't sell our games out. We are in worse shape than you think we are. Had it not been for Annheiser Busch and Wayne Weaver buying up tickets last year, we would have had most games blacked out. We are NOT at a  healthy ticket level, don't fool yourself. If we can get tebow for a fourth or fifth round pick and tebow agrees to it, then the Jags should definitely go for it.

Non-RedNeck Westsider

Khan:  "Timmy, I want you to play for the Jags.  How do you feel about coming home?"

Timmy:  "Gee whiz, God bless, Mr. Khan, I would love to come home and keep working hard as I've done my whole life and fulfill my dream of being a real, honest to goodness NFL QB. "

Khan:  "Whoah there Timmy, slow down a bit.  I didn't say I wanted you here to be a QB.  We already have two of those guys - AND - they can throw...."

[interrupted by Gene]:  "The way I see it, I think you'd be better suited playing tight end or maybe throwing you in on some specialty packages designed specifically for your skillset."

Timmy:  "God bless, Mr. Smith, but you mean I won't be a QB?  I promise you that I'll work really hard at it, I'll study harder than anyone else out there, I'll put in the extra time, Jesus willing, I'll do whatever it takes to be a real QB.  I won't let you down, I promise."

[Gene gets up, walks to the other side of the boardroom and tosses Tim a ball]  Gene:  "Timmy, I'll tell you what.  If you can throw 3 spirals in a row and hit me in my hands, I'll make you the starting QB in training camp."

[After 2 holes in the drywall and a bruised GM Gene shin] Khan:  "I've seen all I need to see.  Timmy, I know you'll do well in New York.   Those heathens need a good christian boy like yourself to clean up their locker room.  And just an FYI, Cromartie doesn't run an actual 'orphanage'.  All 84 of those are his kids, ask him their names, he'll tell you."

Timmy:  "God Bless. {sniff}"

A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Dan,

If Im not mistaken, you havent attended a game in over ten years, how would you even know. ? Also we are aware of the games where tickets were bought up, thats no secret. It was made known to the public. The lockout and terriable season combined wasnt exactly a recipe for fans to run to the ticket office. The beginning of the season started strong, but once the losing persisted attendance begin to slack off. Trust me, I attend the game week and out. The people were there. There only only two or three games where it look a little thing.

Yes, you are mistaken. I go every year. I have never owned season tickets, but I attend at least one game a year, so I guess according to Khan and you I am not a true fan. I am just saying, not every game was a sellout. We had to be bailed several times. We defintiely aren't sold out on the club seat area, so lets not pretend that we are  selling out year in and year out. We are barely avoiding blackouts only.

Do you guys ever think you're so entrenched in the statistics that you can't see the forest for the trees? Ever since the Manning to Denver story broke, nearly every major media outlet in the country has listed Jacksonville as the most likely and most logical landing point for Tim Tebow. Sportscenter. PTI. Around the Horn. Bill Simmons. The New York Times. Sportsline. The list goes on and on. All referring to Tebow to the Jags as the no brainer of the century. Vegas oddsmakers are putting their money on Jacksonville, because it just makes so much sense. Are hardcore Jags fans right on this one, and everyone else on the planet wrong?

Let me present the following two scenarios:

Worst Case Scenario #1:

1) We trade for Tim Tebow and slot him as our number three QB. The massive Northeast Florida Tebow fan base is happy that we acquired him, the haters are happy that he's not our starting QB, and we begin the season to perhaps the most national media attention the Jags have ever enjoyed. Before long, the Tebow fan base is loudly demanding that he be moved into the backup position, or even the starting QB position. Tebow starts, fails miserably, and is never heard from again. Gabbert is still young enough to recover. Nobody faults us for trying.

2) We pass on Tebow. He pulls off another miracle season with another franchise, leads them to the playoffs, and brings said franchise into the forefront of NFL attention and popularity, as he did with Denver last year. A sizable population of Jaguars fans are furious at missing a second opportunity at acquiring their hero.  Meanwhile, Blaine Gabbert flounders in his second season, running for his life in the pocket, getting sacked multiple times per quarter, and wearing the same defeated look on his face that he did for most of last season. As Tebow's new team rallies around him as their leader and talk (like Denver did) about how excited they are to play with him, Blaine Gabbert's offensive line doesn't even bother helping him off the field when he is sacked. The Jaguars are the laughing stock of the NFL for passing on a sure fire thing.

I have zero clue which scenario would play out, and anyone who claims to know is kidding themselves badly.

We just have no idea.

I do think though that the franchise recovers quickly from Scenario #1, and possibly never recovers from Scenario #2.

Regardless of what happens, this might be the most fascinating story of the last ten years for this franchise, and I'm enjoying the hell out of every development.

One thing's for sure, I truly believe it will take balls of steel for Khan to pass up on Tebow with all of the local and national pressure pouring on by the minute.

Neither of your scenarios will happen because the people clamoring for Tebow will never accept his just being a situational player, and they'll all loudly blame the Jaguars for his failure if he gets to start.  He'll also never again pull of the chain of miracles that happened last year.

Citing Bill Simmons, Around the Horn, and Kornheiser as sources for good ideas on what the Jaguars should do is like consulting a fox for good ideas on hen safety.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!
