I just hope we draft the best available player when it's our turn to pick... even if it's a QB. I agree though that a WR is definitely our main need. High draft pick WR and hopefully there's some good free agent WR's coming up next year. I see the ESPN 'Experts' having us pick a DE with our first pick, but I think our defense will be fine granted everyone comes back healthy. We may want to think about drafting another CB if we happen to let Rasheen go, or he wants a ton of money.

It would be counter productive and kinda "jumped the gun" if we drafted another QB. Gabbert is playing on a receiver-less offensive line and was not coached properly at all. I think next season will be his true evaluation. At the most, we should pick a season QB in free agency and let Gabbert learn from him.

I'm TRULY convinced that the Nat'l media hates Jacksonville and the Jags. That jerk Shannon Sharpe on CBS's pregame said that LeSean McCoy for philly is gonna surpass Mojo for the rushing record; No one on the panel questioned his opinion. When he said that, I turned to the Fox pregame. That's why I don't normally listen to Nat'l pregame shows. I'm like WTF!!!are you kidding me?!!! So all this time, that MJD is running against 8 & 9 man fronts, with no passing threat to speak of, and the run stuffing powerhouses of TEN, and IND is supposed to shut Drew down, and McCoy is gonna suddenly go apeshit in their last two games not to mention MJD already had a freaking 70 yard some odd lead over McCoy!!!!The one lil' shining light that the Jags has in this dreaded season MJD's rushing record, the Nat'l media even tries to spoil that! Eff em, Eff em, Eff em!!!!

iMarvin

Not a surprising outcome, although we had the chance to win up until they took the knee. I just hope we can draft the best players possible next year, get enough practice, and come back next year with a great team.

lol well McCoy has a lot of yards to make up. He only ran for like 35 yesterday against Dallas. MJD is ahead by 128 yards and we know how well MJD runs against the Colts...

And as far as Blaine's downfalls being coachable...eh... it sounds good. If a guy is scared I'm not sure you can coach him not to be. We hear about him watching the rush instead of looking down the field EVERY single game. I find it hard to believe that whoever is over the QB's (Dirk Koetter) isn't telling him he needs to work on changing that. If we do end up signing a backup QB, hopefully it's someone that's not a career backup and actually has some talent left in the tank. Not these bums we've been signing as backup QB's lately. First guy that comes to mind to me is Matt Flynn in Green Bay.

Well If I have been sacked almost 40 times as a rookie I think Id be scared as hell too. LMAO All jokes aside, he is a rookie. We knew he was going to have certain issue when we drafted him. I dont think its so much of him being "scared", but more so getting used to the speed of the NFL and the type offense we play. I watched video of him in college, and the spread offense he played in is totally different. He came from a totally different system. He stayed in the shot gun 95 percent of the time. He rarely had defenders right in his face. So yeah.. But I think we need to create some plays that cater more to his style of play that he used to. We drafted him so we gotta work.
with it.

And your right I-10, but im over the national media and I really dont care anymore. I love my city and my team and thats all that matters. We HAVE to get over this. As far as mojo, we all know if you are not on a "popular" team, you get overlooked when you are a good player. It doesnt only happen to Mojo. Just how the NFL is.

I, too, don't understand why most (if not all) of these ex-NFL players get TV gigs...being a doctor doesn't give you the ability to teach an MD course...getting a good on the LSAT doesn't qualify you to teach a Kaplan course...bus drivers don't usually qualify for NASCAR...most of these ex-NFL'ers have spent more time on the field than learning how to analyze. To be quite frank, most of the pre game talk, whether it's CBS or another network, is borderline insulting my intelligence.

One of my co workers just received a call from one of our agents and he cracked a joke about the " LA Jaguars". Jerk. Who really jokes about that? That is a sensitive subject to ANY city whose " rumored" to lose their team. He better be lucky it wasnt me. I would purposely mess up his case for being a smart ass  ::)

Sadly, a lot of people do.  (Especially Ravens fans after our defense just humiliated them, if this year's MNF experience is any indication.)

I think a lot of the time people don't really realize the ramifications of the joke, and I often take time to point out to them 1) how incredibly old and stale and tiresome the joke is and 2) how exhausting it is to hear it constantly as a Jaguar fan;

but more significantly, 3) that the prospect of a team moving = a lot of people losing their jobs, a lot of charitable organizations losing significant funding, a lot of people losing contact to players doing good in the community who were good role models and inspirations, and of course a lot of people being devastated at losing the football team they put a lot of thought and emotion and money into supporting.  Not to mention permanent national embarrassment to a city's image and its forever being tarred as the city that couldn't support a pro team.

And if they still think the idea of a team moving is funny after that - well, they are jerks, to put it more politely than I would.

Oh yeah those Ravens hate our guts. LOL For the most part, I have gotten calls from agents who actually just like to have general football talk, and one was actually a ravens fan and said how he was glad when the divison were realigned because we had such a tough team. I traveled to NJ with my Job last month and talked to a gaints fan at a conference. He HATES the Colts with a passion and said that he has always liked the Jags and always  wants us to win. Some people are just idiots. Not all, but most of them are.

hardly....sure, they weren't happy about losing the game this year....but the Jags are not on the level of the Steelers or Colts for folks in Baltimore!

I'm not talking about from the MNF game. Baltimore still has this ill will towards us because we got a team instead of them during the expansion. Even leading up to the games, I seen articles on the ravens website and the local nes outlets trashing us,  calling the Jags, " our expansion debris rivals" and stating that " They should have never had a team, we deserved one." you would think theyd be over it by now, but they aren't. Everytime we play them that 16 year old garbage always rears its ugly little head. Its never stated, but whenever we play them there is a hidden rivalry going on. Not to mention we used to be division rivals. That's why for me, that MNF game was very gratifying.  ;D

Wayne Weaver is in a reflective mood these days, and not just because it's the New Year.

After 18 years as the only owner the Jacksonville Jaguars have known, Weaver will hand the reins to Illinois businessman Shahid Khan on Jan. 4. The occasion prompted him to share his memories with the team's official website on Friday, and the front office of the New York Giants might want to take note of what Weaver had to say about their head coach, Tom Coughlin.

"Look at the first eight years with (then-head coach) Tom Coughlin. It was our most successful time, but we didn’t do everything right and I learned a lot from him. ...

"If hindsight you could change, I’ll be honest with you: I probably would have never changed Coughlin," the 76-year-old Weaver said. "I would have tried to have Tom take a step back and just be the coach. I thought about it, but I didn’t think Tom would do it. I thought Tom’s pride would never allow him to take a step back and me take the general manager’s position."

It's no wonder Weaver feels that way: The record says Coughlin is the most successful expansion coach in recent NFL history. He had a 68-60 record in eight seasons at the helm in Jacksonville, made two appearances in the AFC Championship Game (including one in the team's second season of play), and is the only coach in league history to lead an expansion team to the playoffs in four of its first five seasons. (Coughlin's replacement, Jack Del Rio, had just two playoff appearances between 2003 and 2011, and never made it past the second round.)

"My three short list names I had narrowed it down to were (Mike) Shanahan, (Tony) Dungy and Tom," Weaver said. "I hired Tom because I felt he was more autocratic and I felt that not knowing anything about this business I needed somebody where I could say, ‘You set the stage here. You build the platform we have to build this franchise around.’ I felt he would be the best guy to do it and as it turned out, he was the best guy to do it. We had tremendous success. Our draft choices were probably better than the average team at the time. That was Tom’s work ethic. He was very involved and he was a good evaluator. He held people accountable to develop those players."

"I’m proud overall of what we accomplished here," Weaver stressed. "I’m disappointed, because I do think you can win (a Super Bowl) in this league a lot sooner than 18 years and we didn’t do it."

And his advice to Khan?

"What you have to do is draft well and get the right coach. That’s what I said to him."

We closed it out with win. And for the first time EVER we swept the Colts. Thats all I wanted for the season. And Mojo got his rushing title and the defense will still land in the top 5. Amen (Lol)
