I can think of one major reason why Tebow probably chose NY over Jax: the Jaguars suck and the Jets are possible superbowl contenders.

An average 8-8 Jets team that lost three straight to finish the season isn't exactly a 'SB contender'. The Jets has some issues, esp with this Tebow circus; Even Mr 'Can't wait!' Bart Scott wanted to get outta there; Maybe you got confused with that season when they were contenders beating the Pats in the playoffs. We'll see who 'suck' when the Jags face the Jets at Everbank Field, and face your Phins down there in Sunlife Stadium. Cant wait!!!!

Well, they definitely did collapse in the latter part of the season. They finished second in their division, but to be fair, it was a weak division.

I would never, ever try to convince anyone that the Dolphins don't suck. They do. Badly. I don't hold out much hope for this season. I know they've been pretty lacklustre since Marino left (aside from a few strong seasons), but lately it's just embarassing.

Simma down, DD :) 9-7 is restrained optimism.  Every year the Jags win a couple that they "shouldn't", and lose a couple that they shouldn't.  So long as they make it interesting with all the AFC south teams and keep the Colts in the cellar, and are in the playoff race, I'm good.  I'd consider that "change I can believe in."

Curious to see how the WR battle shakes out.

I can take 9-7. After losing for three years straight we did come back at 9-7 back in 2004. So I think thats fair. 10-6 just sounds so perfect to me. I was watching the footage from the evening with the coaches and Murlakey made a statement that he promised we wouldnt beat ourselfs this year. Because as you said, there were where we should have won but didnt.

Word.  I'm also expecting a "surprise" turnaround in #11's performance this year.  I put surprise in quotations because I'm not one of these Chicken Little types who's just looking for an excuse to hate everything.

My middle fingers are both on vacation for a few months.  Come football season, they'll be my visual aides as I'm finally able to tell all the naysayers to go f--- themselves.

Mine are on vacation as well. I often read comments on ESPN,NFL etc and its funny how people have this theory that we horriable and only won under coughlin. But yet we went to the playoffs twice under Del Rio and had three winning seasons from 2004, 2005 and 2007. But its all good!  The best way to silence haters is "Just win baby!" And Im ready.

Tania Ganguli arrested last night.

A Florida Times-Union Jaguars beat reporter was arrested early Saturday for misusing the 911 system following a disturbance at a Jacksonville Beach bar.

Police were called to the Brix Tap House around 2 a.m. Saturday. Tania Ganguli, 27, of the 2300 block of Riverside Avenue, told an officer an employee of the business had pushed her to the ground, according to a police report

The officer determined her complaint was unfounded, a decision Ganguli disagreed with. She then called 911, the report says, and asked for other officers to assist.

As she continued to "yell into the phone at the 911 dispatcher," the report says, she was arrested and then taken to the Duval County Jail. She was released later Saturday.

Wow. It will be interesting to see how things play out concerning her job status at the TU.

Hopefully they keep her around.

I've been really impressed with her coverage as of late.

I'm with you man.

I'm predicting 10-6 for the season.

I have a really good feeling about 2012-13.

I also hear from those who were at the game that when the championship banner was unfurled, the Shark mascot held up a sign that said "Sharks 1, Team Teal 0."  Not the first time this organization has classlessly taken a shot at the Jaguars.  I can't root for them, and it's nearly impossible to get me to not root for something from Jacksonville.

^^^No they didn't!!! I didn't even know about the Sharks taking shots at the Jags. I thought that it was all good between the two organizations, because I saw a Sharks 'fanatic' or whoever at a Jags game (I guess just to drum up Sharks support). Well, if that's the case (Sharks mascot with the sign) you can forget about me ever supporting that the Sharks again! That is SO dumb of them; Don't they care that some Jags fans want to be Sharks fans, and not every Jags fan want Tim Tebow here? That's why their butts lost 41-69. So sad, I really rooted for the Sharks, not no more. :(

Rynjny

Someone on Twitter posted that they saw that sign from the mascot..if that's the case, i'm not rooting for the sharks anymore.

tufsu1

if true, I would expect an apology from the team's front office by tomorrow...and possible firing of the mascot

Rynjny

I think the sharks front office encourage those actions from their mascot. I'll be surprised if they offer an apology.

Nothing wrong with a little teasing of the big teal monster. If that's all it was - a sign - then people are being way too sensitive. Fact is - it was true. It's not like they hung a banner outside the arena taunting the Jags across the parking lot. Lighten up people.

PS - the best way to shut up the Sharks mascot is for the Jags to win.
