"Likes" or "+1s" ?

So here's something I've been contemplating of late:

Does the software that runs this site support either Likes or +1s, akin to Facebook or Google+?

I don't have a Facebook account, so I'm not familiar with how this site ties into there and how it all works.

Just a thought.  I figured it'd save the Forum space with a bunch of manual "+1" comments (which I myself am guilty of!)

Any insight from the powers-that-be?

Thanks!

I think this would detract from the conversations that occur. Instead of actually thinking about an actual response, you just get to circlejerk a +1 or "Like" a comment without any forethought.

Fair point.
