City layoffs are just tip of the iceberg

Blog on the Times Union, but still, interesting read on all the people you never see in the news, but who are also getting the shaft at City Hall. Heart goes out to those affected.

I do know that the morale is just in the dumps down at City Hall. I had a request for something through ITD and Procurement and it took ITD 3 weeks to get to it, as the department is in disarray, as are many of them.  Some of my friends in the City check their Prox cards against the readers, to see if they still have a job in the mornings. Its scary down there now.

Well, the mayor has said this is the first step in the reorganization. I think more layoffs are probably a sure thing.
