Does High Government Spending Cause Socialism?

High Government spending can pull us out of this recession, the way FDR and Truman were able to in the last Great Recession. For those that worry about high government causing socialism, here is an interesting chart:

So according to this map, the US is more socialist than Canada. Of course I know defense spensing is REALLY high in the US, which distorts comparison to other countries.
