No one said that.  In fact... these workers were actually turned in to the local TV reporter by their union co workers.  The video is awesome... ;D
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Apparently it is... ;)  But be careful... I heard using the "But they do it too" argument was frowned upon... :)

Actually, my employer (a Fortune 500) allows two drinks during business lunches. It is printed in our employee handbook. I just find the place with the biggest mugs.

I'll have a hand of scotch please.  And if you see the bottom of my glass before the bottom of my shoes, go ahead and bring me another.

This quite common... if you watched the video... those guys were certainly not conducting business...lol

Obviously only union employees smoke weed, so eliminating unions is the obvious solution to prevent employees from smoking weed. I'm sure non-union employees have never once done anything similar. Nice logic there Sigma.  ::)

Lunican

Union workers drink and smoke. Drinking and smoking is bad.  Therefore, unions are bad.

Spotting a specious argument is a skill worth practicing...

ahh and the 3 musketeers have chimed in with nothing to contribute but defending the indefensible. nice going guys.

I think you are confused. No one defended their behavior.

I will condemn their behavior, however it doesn't help your argument at all.

If you don't like unions you can post reasons they shouldn't exist. This just isn't a valid one.

Sigma

well hell, nobody I guess.  what about your airline pilot? or your surgeon?  just some beer and pot at lunch is nothing to get in a fuss about, right?

now, if you were one of the owners/bond holders of Chrysler before the gov't snatched it away and handed ownership to the unions you might be ticked.  or you could be someone that owns mutual funds that owns stock in this company.  not good news.

I gotcha, Lunican.  I have my gripes with unions that I have posted numerous times.  My only argument in this post is that this has happened before, so 'here we go again'.  Unlike some other posters, I have actually worked for several years with the same company in different states. In one state, non-union, and in the next union.  BIG difference in atmosphere, productivity, and profit.

Pot-smoking and drinking during working hours is not acceptable - union or not.  Chrysler sticks out because of the government take-over.

And as copperfiend pointed out, some companies allow a couple drinks during lunch.  In my experience though, the employee must be in a sales role or management where they are entertaining clients, etc.

take it easy, man.
