Are there any disgruntled teachers out there who are tired of having their entire school year built around a pointless test? If so, you might enjoy the two-act comedy that I'll be writing, directing and starring in this August. "Testing: A Week in the Life of an Ex-Teacher" is based on my experiences as a former Duval County teacher and scorer of FCAT tests.

The play will be performed at Vault Artspace + Gallery, 121 W. Forsyth Street, in downtown Jacksonville. Performances will be on Fri. & Sat., Aug. 18 & 19 and Aug. 26 & 27, 2011 -- respectively, the weekends before and after the start of the 2011-12 school year -- at 8:00 p.m. Admission will be $10 per person. Please be aware that the play has adult language and situations.
