I hate to bring this up but I was curious how the Republicans voted when a Republican was in office. A lok back at the last ten years reveals the following:

Hypocrisy and pure partisan politics, all rolled into one. And yes, it is on both sides of the aisle.

Before the republicans....surplus..not debt...after republicans...masive debt and the country in dire straights....why in the hell would anyone list to anything the republicans have to say about anything doing with money.....

^^Right. After the Clinton Adminstration we almost had a clean slate. Then here comes Bush and leaves us with massive debt that has been sat in Obama's lap, and he's getting the blame for it. Politics.........

I know I will make this statement without any proof and people will jump on my ass for this, but....

There are more smarter people in the liberalish side than the conservativish side.

Living in denial is so much more comfortable that facing the truth. Besides believing in one's own lies does give a sense of control..........it's like you are gaming everyone else and keeping a sincere and straight face while you are doing it.

That is for example how Casey Anthony controls her world.
In a society governed passively by free markets and free elections, organized greed always defeats disorganized democracy.

I have to agree, as well, I have never seen so many people vote against their own interests.

and what kills me with some of them is the blind support for Corporate America that some of them. how do you advocate for Tax breaks for the wealthy, when you on Food Stamps, middle class, or not even making any capital gains Im just saying.

Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor satisfaction to the wise,
Nor riches to the smart,
Nor grace to the learned.
Sooner or later bad luck hits us all.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Yeah, but they conveniently left out some pertinent info.  Go back to the years when the Republicans controlled the House and Bush was President.  Here are the numbers of Democrats who voted to raise the debt ceiling:

2006: 0 (including Obama and Reid, among others)
2004: 2
2003: 1
2002: 3

I agree: there are a lot of hypocrites on the Hill, and partisan politics is alive and well on both sides of the aisle.  Frankly, I don't trust either side.

Yep, this is such an intelligent conversation.   ::)

Careful Ajax... you certainly do not want to be too closely aligned with my point of view...

Under Bush II Republicans raised the debt ceiling 7 times. What more needs to be said.

A republican congress presided over the purse strings during the Clinton regime. Just a little FYI. (Austerity measures anyone?)

Goldman Sachs is the republican party, which is the democrat party which is CitiGroup.
