I know who to vote for for Mayor (and for my non-at large race, and for District 1) but am not sure about a couple of the other at large races.  Does anyone have any opinions about either Lumb or Foy?

I heard Lumb make some logical and impressive comments about the importance of downtown development.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

I have never met Foy and I have not heard him speak.

I met Robin Lumb twice.  Once at a small impromptu meeting about pensions led by sanmarcomatt (http://www.metrojacksonville.com/forum/index.php?topic=11798.0) and once at the recent forum at the Hayden Burns Library.  He impressed me both times with his intellect and sincerity.

I will be voting for Lumb.

I reached out to Foy but never heard back.

I reached out to Lumb and he couldn't have been more receptive. Its been a few weeks and I mentioned kayaking Hogans Creek and maybe we'll see it in a boat instead. Our city will benefit under his leadership.

Robin, If you read this I hope you will call Robert at Robert's Eatery and bring your yard sign and he will proudly hang it on his tent along with other council candidates. Call him first 904-485-0273. The campaign signs have become a real focus of conversation.

I'm voting for Lumb.

Robin Lumb is a neighbor and while we don't see eye to eye on many social issues that don't matter at a local level, he is intelligent, independent and a man of real integrity.  He educates himself about issues rather than having a knee jerk reaction to them.

He cares deeply about the quality of life in this town.  He has been involved with the community at several levels for some time.

He is a staunch advocate for historic preservation and downtown revitalization.

He is a successful small businessman in a tough, competitive business.

And he has two standard poodles, one a rescue, which means something to a dog lover like me.  It takes a brave person to have one standard poodle much less two of them.  They are smarter than many people and willful.
When all else fails hug the dog.

Lumb here as well.  Very practical and common-sense oriented views on DT, historic preservation and the city at large.
