Hey Gringos, bet you never saw any of this on the 5 o:clock news. I couldn't decide what to call this: "Mi Colombia!" or "A message to Fidel, (The AUC) with love..." It's the little things in life that you enjoy so much, and I was watching. Watching these boys go out every day from Medellin gives one the warm fuzzys. Those scenes of poor jungle villages found on CBS, CNN or FOX are the Colombian equal to being 50 miles out in the middle of the Everglades. When we would see this on the LOCAL news in Colombia, we would look at each other and say, "Well, what was the dumb DEAD Gringo doing out there in the first place?" To us, from a peaceful City in the Andes, the war seemed far away. Only a insane Drug pusher, or slightly crazy railroad guy would have gone out there...

For you techies out there, this is the Colombian Air Force, in action:

Aircraft: Kfir Fighter Bombers, made in Israel
Pilots: Colombian
Mission: US-COLOMBIAN Joint, anti-guerrilla
Training: Israel-UK-US-Colombia

PART TWO: The Equipment
I love the little shot of the old C-47/DC-3 "Fantasma," or "GHOST". Colombia took a few of them and converted them into Gun Ships for Mountain/Jungle warfare...Very cool!
