I am perhaps one of the most outspoken fighters of The School Board, first over Normandy, now over getting air conditioning on buses. But I let that go while they were and will while they are making the transition to Ed Pratt-Dannals. For the first time in ages I am optimistic about things.
Last night there was a town hall meeting at Historic AME Zion downtown.
Betty Burney and Brenda Priestly-Jackson along with Ed Pratt-Dannals attended and held a meeting to seek the community out for ideas, suggestions, and help to correct some of the problems we face.
We will make no progress lookintg backwards, and already things are better with P.D. running the show, and the best thing anyone can do is to mentor and tutor.
You have no right to complain about crime and bad graduation rates if you don't take part in tutoring or mentoring kids. If you understand what a community is, then you know it will take everyone to make the changes and reach the goal. This truly is a team effort.
And as I said, I am one of their biggest critics... I am the advasaral ally of them. I will fight them when they are wrong, like they were on Normandy and are on buses, and stand with them with what they are doing that is good and right.
So don't you dare open your trap to complain about crime or education if you aren't helping kids!
